Not a ton to update but I did get the steering mocked up.

Bought a new rag joint until I find the right combination of joints... the XJ swap isnt a direct swap for my steering column.

Still working on tie rod / spring issues.... I made a couple of these 1" .25" walled tube spacers. Not sure how I feel about them. My plan is to weld them directly to the arms. Obviously this isn't as ideal but they are pretty beefy spacers and would be welded to the arms.

Opinions?

If it were me and I were going to run the spacer there I would be looking at how I could make it double shear with some plate to make a "pocket". Even if done well it won't be too "pretty" but it would be stupid strong.

I am curious if anyone has ran into this problem:

Steering wheel moves freely (lock to lock) but the ignition (key) will not turn which does not allow me to take it out of park. Usually this locks out the steering wheel but for some reason I can move it but the key will not rotate in the ignition.

WFO to the rescue... talked to Bryan over there and he noticed my lack of shims/caster angle. I hadn't planned on setting that until I had the doubler in but it doesnt matter in the front end really. Seems like the easiest fix for my tie rod clearance is just to shim to about 4 degrees. Something tells me when I do that... this issue will disappear. I feel like an idiot missing this detail.

Really really can't say enough about WFO. I emailed them and they called me within a few hours and didnt even sell me anything but took the time to take of my issues. Customer support is HUGE in my book. Between WFO, DIY4X, and ORD I've been well taken care of and appreciate the effort they give their customers.

funny, I was going to ask if you set your caster but I just ASSumed you did.

WFO are good people for sure :saweet:

Got some time out in the shop. I measured out the stroke of the ram and figured out it was too long (8") which is typical for hysteer (dropped it down to ~6"):

So I tore apart the ram to de-stroke it by adding a spacer internally:

Also got some more parts from PSC. I also note that ordering the parts from summit was MUCH cheaper than ordering from PSC for some reason:

Notched the leaf pad for more clearance:
