The ram/ram tower clears the tie-rod at full lock right?

yup, everything clears now. I've cycled the steering many many many many many many many many times now. As Martin has often mentioned... hysteer is a pain in the ass (especially when you move the springs all the way forward).

right on.

It's kinda hard to determine clearances in pics but I figured it was worth asking before you burn in that ram tower.

Yeah, I appreciate that... lots of things get overlooked when building things. Honestly, 90% of the reason I share the build is for someone to point out things I miss or dont think about. I always appreciate comments bad or good.

Likewise

I've hit a crossroad.... Time to make some decisions.

Over the last week or two I ripped out the np203 to replace it the the 203/205 I have . If I went with that I would have a nice emission friendly 300hp 355ci, good shifting th350 to the 203/205. Going this route require me to redo the existing crossmember, add another crossmember, and redo the exhaust. This route would work "ok" to turn those 42s although the dunes would suck the power up pretty quick even with the 5.13s.

Another option is to build the big block I have laying around. I would be tempted to use it as is but it came out of a rolled vehicle and I do not know what is in it internally. I have it in the budget to build the motor but I'm somewhat worried about emissions (can anyone suggest a good emissions friendly retro roller big block cam?). I'd also yank the th350 in favor of a th400 or possible a 4l80e (also doable in the budget). I also have the correct th400 to 203 adapter and 32spline input for the doubler already. This route is ultimately what I've wanted to do anyway but steered away from so I could just get the blazer back on the road sooner.

The last factor is that I found a nice 84 k20 for a steal of a price... but has a bad 350 in it.

I COULD just take my 355 from the blazer and literally just bolt in there and have a running truck.. THEN just build the 454 and put it in the blazer. Right? Help me. It's just money right? lol.

BBC in the K5. The th400/4L80E debate is settled with the necessity of OD, if you need/want it.

LOL this is how things always derail. Such a slippery slope....

You said it man. I feel like "while I am here I might as well...."

That's how my fj60 build went... first it was sbc swap, then tranny, then doubler, and on and on and on it went.

Seriously fighting myself on what to do.

Didn't Paxton make a blower for those years motors that was emissions friendly? Sounds like an easy 500hp with stock idle or dang near it but gobs of torque..

Ha!

Not really interested in charger... just one more thing to fail on the trail.
