8 Low

Noticed this last weekend. When I drop out the passenger side the drag link hits the leaf spring. I'm not really sure if I'm going to try & do anything about it... I'm also kind of suprized at how much bump steer this rig has.

Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to use a chain to see how much of a limiting strap you'd need. Then limit travel on that side, would suck to kill that tie rod end prematurely.

Straps & bumps will be on this week. Waiting on "Ass Vaults" from RuffStuff. Hopefully Tuttle Creek next Saturday. I don't think they hit before I installed the axle shims...

Trying to button up what I can before Tuttle on Saturday. Finished the rear body mounts, tacked in the floor over the transfer case, squirted some grease. Limit straps will be here tomorow & I'll have to get at least the front ones on tomorow night. I am NOT going to blow up a new Tom Woods driveline!

More like band aid. Those issues are still there
I'd advocate correcting those, then add hydro. Makes the truck drive better
I am aware. Which is why the front end is getting torn down. But as a truck that very rarely drives on the road, it's not much of an issue for me.

It's a D60 thing. Even with new components in the king pin system and new TRE/DRE ends, they may still wobble. Pinion correction shims also amplify the issue.

High pinion is a wonderful thing. Fixes drive line angle so you can fix caster/camber and everything else without creating a sympathy issues.
Wish GM would have done that from the factory

I do have a HP60, just not on the K5...

Simpathy issues... I think sympathy issues are going to be the nail in the coffin towards a linked front end. I moved my front axle to where I wanted it & the tie rod hit the spring plate. Moved it back, bought a god awefull expensive long slip driveshaft to accommodate leaf springs, rotated pinion up to correct driveline angles & now my drag link hits my springs. I am thinking maybe when I cut my C's & rotate them to correct caster I may gain the clearance I need for the drag link. Also hoping correcting my caster & a good alignment will help lesion the bump steer somehow. I WILL be driving this thing long distances & need it to play nice on the road.

Likely when you rotated it, it pissed everything off.

Doing the C job is fun too

you're running EZ inches in front right? Remove those and push your B52's forward instead. Also add some bolts so they don't fall off :D

Roger, Easy inch & B52's. I had the easy inches all the way forward to begin with. Then I needed to "tune" my shackle angle & I moved my springs all of the way forward in the B-52's. With the easy inchs forward, & the B52's forward my drag link hit my bigass spring plate. At this time my springs are as far forward in the b52's as possible & the easy inches are centered. It's like the hammer game at Chucky Cheese. You smack one of the little f-ers and another one pops up somewhere else!
