8 Low

On the 60? Now that's definitely not good.

Could possibly kick the bearing seats with a punch, and cover them in green retaining compound.

Peening & gluing.... don't like it, don't trust it. But at this point I don't have a choice. Buying another 60 is not an option.

It's not ideal but, with the front axle only seeing a fraction of the use the rear does, it'll last a while. Long enough to find anouther housing when it's convenient for you.

My 14ff carrier had a spun bearing on one side. Scored up the surface, used green loctite, has held up for 12 years.

Green is no joke.

Green loc tite really is no joke, but this a good chance to upgrade to 70 gears!

Great idea but I just invested in a locker & gears for this 60, not to mention 3 sets of bearings & seals.

Green loctite your 70 gears in. Lol

I would almost bet green could hold spider gears together enough for one burnout.

I thought the gears were wasted too? Or atleast the pinion was welded to the bearings.

What about Dana 70 gears? Requires boring out the housing in the pinion anyways correct?

The pinion bearing spacing is a little different (1/8"?) but there is a kit to do this. Just some grinding and modification of the inner pinion bearing race pocket.

I had a new gear set already that I was going to return. Now I need it. I bought 2 sets of bearings originally, one set to grind for setup. All in all, if I had done this right I could have put an ARB up there for what I have into it. Par for the course. It will all be worth it soon. Front end should be done today & I'll go back together & forget this ever happened.

What about having the housing welded and bored back to spec or is that too spendy and not easy to get done? I'd just peen it and Loctite it. I'm sure it will be fine if properly set up and you keep oil in it from now on.
