80's short box, "S.E.R.E." Box permanently attached to the cab.

One problem with the instructions is they are obviously translated instructions. A lot of the sentences are weird to read.

It will work from anywhere on the planet as long as you have cell phone service.

I can program up to 200 allowed callers although, in my application, I don't think that would be necessary.:D

Dave, you get the number as soon as I get a key to the vette.:thumb:

:haha: :haha: :thumb:

yeah, I thought so too!

seems like a fair trade off!

I'm really curious about this working out. I would love to use this to run my wheelchair lift. That timed sequence would be great. No more sitting in the rain waiting for my door to shut or open just program the timer to run long enough for it to close/open and don't look back:rolleyes:

Kert, I'm thinking that box is going to need cell phone subscription of some sort to communicate:dunno: I think verizon has stuff like this out there as I'm studying the options for my truck and learning.

Probably just needs a sim card. My alarm system has a prepaid sim in it. I pay like 50 bucks a year for it.

I, too, have been wondering how this ties in with the cellphone network (and what cost that will imply).

I would imagine your wheel chair lift already has some sort of latching relay system I would guess. Not 100% certain though. It could certainly work. Would be similar to one of the thing I intend on doing with my setup. I'd like to be able to open the tailgate and back window with it. I think I got a schematic drawn up for it.

As far as the cellular part of it goes, yes, it has a sim chip in it. You can do the prepaid thing or in my case it was super cheap to add one number to our existing plan so I went that route. Its has very knocked down capabilities. As limited as we can get on our plan since it will never make a phone call. basically just texting back and forth and the texts back to you can be shut off if you don't want the confirmation. That'd cut the texting in half.

Got all the time delay stuff figured out today so its fully functional.

Output 1, is the only one that can be set up with a super short pulse. Currently have that set up for 1/2 second for cranking the engine. Obviously that will need to be tuned.

Output 2, is the Grid heater. When this one is selected in pulse mode, you are prompted for a "minutes of run time."

Output 3, is programmed for the KSB valve, again, prompted for run time.

Output 4, Fuel solenoid. This one I could run from the switch or pulse mode. Switch mode would leave the fuel solenoid open until I decided to shut it off with the GSM or manually. Could also be run from the pulse mode and you could use the prompt in minutes to have it shut off after 15 minutes or whatever so it doesn't just run forever if you were to get busy doing something else. For instance, phone rings as you're trying to get out the door. Happens to me all the time.

Output 5, This one I intend to use for opening the tail gate and back window. Don't really need an output to close it. I figure i'll be at the truck to close it.

Output 6, I'm figuring for turning on the Heat or AC.

Output 7, I'm planning for some lighting. Could be floods on the roof rack or maybe some underbody lights. Whatever would be most useful when you are trying to work on something in the evening or maybe if you see a shifty looking character to close to the vehicle.:D

Yeah this is awesome. Thanks for the info.:waytogo: I'm studying this deal right now and looking to do something to my suburban Asap.

You might want to consider the two relay unit. Unless you have a need for 7 circuits

Yea I thought it seemed like you where able to do more with yours than the ones I'm looking at. What app runs your device? It looks like I'm going to do the drone mobile.:woot:

GSM7 is the name of the app. I think its produced by the same outfit that makes the GSM box.

Some preliminary transmission cross member work done up.

I had a vision in my head but that vision did not consider the front drive shaft. No matter, i'll use this one that is all tacked together to build a quicky fixture and make the necessary changes.

looks like the beginnings of a nice piece...are you going to have to make a cutout/lowered portion to that piece for driveshaft clearance?

I think we'll go with a raised/arced portion.

Unfortuantely, I think this build will go on hold at least for a couple weeks. Took on a quick build for a customer that needs his rig up a bit higher for some additional tire clearance along with the associated corrections.

thats cuz ya took a Friday/Saturday off a couple weeks ago!
