82 K20 CREW "WONTON"

I got most of the 60 put together this weekend. This was my first time installing gears, it took me forever but I learned alot from it. I definitely feel more comfortable doing the rear axle now. Hoping to have the front end all back under it by this weekend.

Definitely something cool going on here! Gears used to scare me but that was because I was thinking too hard.

I was doing the same thing. It is very time consuming though haha.
Yeah that's the part that sucks! I can knock out a set pretty quick nowadays but it took a lot of trial and error to be able to. Plus I had a boss a while back that showed me a few tricks. Learned a lot from tv and magazines too! But then again there are some days that it just won't go right.

Well I'm hoping this one was just a pain in the ass. Well see how the rear goes. I'm not looking forward to how horrible this thing is going to turn.

14 bolts IMHO are a lot easier. Sorry if you already said it but are you going to do hydraulic assist? If you are then the steering really won't be all that much worse than an open diff. Just remember that it won't always go where you point it but a little more throttle will take care of that problem most times.

Man that thing looks nice... Too bad it's not going to stay that way once you get to really driving it. :thumb:

Yes I picked up all my hydro assist parts yesterday.

That's what I thought, but the order of your pictures was confusing.

Are you going to paint the cast parts black?

Martin

I figured I'd post the good stuff first! No I painted them duplicolor cast iron on purpose. I wanted a little contrast.
