83 Blazer Build

suspension all in minus front shocks (need some ford towers). brakes bleeds done, fuel tank is in with all new flex lines. fluids changed in engine. got stuck with the steering gear though. since my 2wd one is outta my 78, apparently the fittings on the ends of the press line are different then in 83 so i have to either make a hybrid press line with different type ends or go buy a 2wd box for the correct year. otherwise its ready to test

Ya. The older one is a flare end and 80s one is a flare then a short piece of straight. Need both pumps to work so both rigs have power steering. Gonna see if I can cut the flex on both and reconnect the other ends back on

found new donor engine! its getting picked up today. should be a suitable upgrade and easy install! more to come soon

Finally had a day off and spent some much needed time on the Blazer.... removed the blown 305 and will start engine bay cleanup/paint. I can now install my ORD HD engine crossmember and steering brace. Still need to find some brackets for the new engine for its serpentine.

Had to order a motor mount adapter for the driver's side since the lt1 is upside-down

Got a set of 5 H2 rims today all brand new for $150, and my motor mount adapter from dirty dingo should be here any minute so i can have the LT1 installed today. Finally some more progress.:woot:

Has anyone made some chevy hub cap centers that fit the H2 rims?

LT1 350 all mounted up, since it was a caprice and im running a F-body accessories setup i have to change the harmonic balancer as the B-bodys are about 1/2" out farther then the F. Reason for the F-body bracket is to put my alternator up top. I already recieved my new hub/34% smaller balancer, a/c delete pulley. Removed stock balancer but a storm rolled in so im on hold till next weekend. I'll get pictures once it clears up.

So... to finish bolting the tranny to the bell houseing, i cant find where the smaller support bar goes. i know where the transfer case one mounts up but not the smaller one thats like 14", anyone have a picture of where it goes?

The ones that go to the bottom of the inspection cover?

ya, the longer one on the pass side goes from the Tcase to dust cover. and other one im not so sure. sucks taking a couple months to do an engine swap due to lack of time/weather

My experience is that it usually connects to the engine block near the starter.

Truck I have my eye on, not for sale yet but i need to talk to the owner. I would love to make this my tow rig. D60 front, 14B dually rear. Gooseneck ball. never seen one this short though. its shorter then my blazer. Oh and it has a 350/3spd manual. Last registered in 2011 so im hoping it still runs.

ya, its a strange rig. no on the LT1 yet, waiting on the guy i did some trades with to show some $$ so i can get a wire harness/comp. luckily i know him but untill then it sits in my driveway :doah:
