well, not much to update sadly. I did order a 93 lokar throttle kickdown cable and bracket so my 700R4 will work correctly. But i am still waiting for $$ from the PO. And all this idle time I will be happily having my 3rd daughter! and she is due Oct 2nd. Ive been working too much and have been getting hammered with doctor's bills from my oldest daughter. So untill all that settles down im stuck where im at. I will most likely be selling my 94 Jimmy to fund my 83 build. Wish i could report more.

I need help! . so in effort to get something done on my rig i tore the steering column apart to fix the tilt on it. but while doing so i found that the ball bearing set under the steering wheel was exploded. i cant find that bearing anywhere. so if anyone knows a part # or how to get one please let me know.

You talking the one with like 16 little bbs in it?

yes, behind the lock plate but around the steering shaft itself but before the wobble part.

that is the p/n for the gm steering column rebuild kit. it comes with the bearings and ignition rebuild components. I found it on eBay, I'm not sure if gm carries it anymore.

I have filled them with grease and stuck the balls back in place and reassembled on more than one occasion. They will stay in place.

the plastic track to put the bearings in was smashed into pieces inside when i opened it up. i have a new one on order. so hopefully will come in soon. was a good experience to go through it though. And now i have a non tilt steering column nearly complete (missing some plastic outside covers). if anyone needs it they can have it.

so i bought a new steering column upper bearing set off of ebay, but it is not together. does anyone have some pictures or a diagram showing how they go together? also i ended up trading my LT1, was going to cost too much to finish/time to complete it. so i traded with a buddy who just took out his 350 with vortec heads, a pretty hot cam, and it comes with headers/all front drive items etc. all i need is a distributer/carb and i can be back up and running.

So... steering column partially in. got rained out on my 1 day off. but i did find a set of captains seats from a 04 chevy pickup all manual controls. for only $100 and their in great shape, cloth and non torn/broke down. Waiting for next paycheck to buy my new carb and some misc stuff. Should have it up and running before Xmas now. Im super excited again after a long time since i am finally making some progress.

She is finally up and moving under its own power! Steering column fixed, new 350 with vortec heads and performer intake/ carb. All new exhaust, new wire harness since all of my fusable links were toast. Still need to bedliner cab and mount seats. My cowl hood and TCI adjustable tv cable should be here today or tomorrow. Getting excited to have it drivable/reliable
