Rust repair and trying to un-f*ck everything the PO's had done.
I'd be going nuts if I had to be off work and couldn't work on stuff.
I am!!!! It’s been 3 weeks now and I’ve got another 6 to go..

I made it out and installed the new wires and loom kits today and it looks so much better and I think runs the best it has since I’ve had it. It seems to be burning hotter and I’m wondering now if I was only running on 7 before. The idle is much smoother, it’s not popping and seems to have a little more power. After the meds wore off I took her out and it almost seems like the exhaust isn’t as loud either.

I’m liking this grey on the hood but I got another color in that want to try out, although, it will probably be a while before I can get it on.

Hope you plug that valve cover hole back up
It’s for the PCV valve and I cut the new hose to short and the old one was trashed. Now I need to get more. I think I over did it today.. After I got all that done I degeased everything under the truck with a heavy duty degreaser and washed it off. Looks a lot better but I’m hurting now!

I can finally add something to this build page again...

This was my day yesterday when my fuel pump shot shit on me.

After getting the fuel pump replaced today (it was a bitch with one hand!), I made it to the tire shop to get my new M/T Deegan 38’s in 33x12.5x15.

You can also see where the PO cut the hard fuel line and just stuck a rubber line on it..

My current situation.. waiting on a tow, again. This new fuel pump has maybe 15 miles on it and I’m not getting any fuel. This thing is starting to piss me off.

Dude, sometimes it's like playing whack-a-mole. It's frustrating as all get out for sure. One fuel pump failing I can belive. A second new pump failing in a few days is odd to say the least. So here comes the questions..

Have you put a vacuum gauge on the inlet side of the fuel pump? Is it pulling a vacuum while cranking or not? If it isn't, you confirmed a pump failure. If it is pulling a vacuum, then you need to work your way backward in the fuel system. All you need is one hole or break in the system and it's like sucking out of a straw with a hole in the side above your drink. It will suck air before it draws fuel. The most common thing to find is a wiped out rubber hose that makes the jump from the fuel tank to the frame. My father in law's 77 Pontiac had a similar problem a few years back. Pump was drawing a good vacuum and if you primed the carb it would start and stay running. Let it sit with the engine off for more than 5 minutes you'd have to reprime the carb. I crawled underneath to find what was probably an original hose from 1977 that was so dry rotted it practically turned to dust when I touched it. Put a hose in it and the car started fine every time after that.

I’ll probably go back out tonight and install the new one and then degrease the frame rail with the fuel lines and start checking. The first pump looked pretty old, so I understand that one going out but the new one is just how my luck goes. Bad part, I already took it off and exchanged it. The temp is supposed to drop to the mid 20’s and start snowing here by 10 am and right now it’s still in the low 50’s now. I don’t want to do it tonight but I don’t like being cold either.
 
Brown Santa came today and delivered my trans jack adapter and and new trans mounts. I didn’t realize how smoked mine were until I got underneath the truck and noticed the old ones looked like melted wax. Picked up my new flexplate and threw some paint on it. Hopefully I can get started on it tomorrow, it’s going to be warmer, 16 for the high!

Hahaha!! And I want every part I replace to be nice and shiny, so I can actually tell I’m making progress.
