Are you going to put some bedliner down where the (probably stinky) old carpet pad was? I have bare metal there on my truck and it gets pretty hot in the summer. I would think some kind of coating would maybe help reduce some of that but I don't know.

Poor ol' LeBron. Boo hoo hoo.

I removed the front section of the carpet a year ago, it does get hot. Down the road I may do something, for now the tube doors should help ventilate the cab :D

and the lebron show wasn't enough last night :thumb: Warriors actually have a rounded team that plays together, not this isolation crap.

My truck is herculined so youll see how that looks. Then youll go straight home and do it. Lol :woot:

I've been thinking about doing that for years but doesn't it stink up the inside of the cab? Or does the smell eventually go away?

Surprisingly it doesnt stink at all. Of course it did the first few days it was done curing but even withthe sun beating on it you cant really smell anything. its amazing stuff. keeps the heat from the powertrain down too.

I went with herculiner is because it has rubber chunks in it so it helps with grip when youre feet are wet. its cool to just take the hose to it when you clean up the rig.

Is that roll on or spray? I'll probably do something but the interior hasn't been the focus yet.

Roll on but I was way more successful with a paint brush. takes a gallon to do a blazer all the way back the the tailgate. I have pics in the beginning of my build thread.

Tires look good man. I have those on my F-250, wear pretty good for how heavy my truck is. My only complaint is that they have little lateral traction and tend to "slither" down the road. They like the groves in the freeways.

Had to help my brother & his family move to his new house Saturday however I was able to thrash all day Sunday and get the sliders built and installed. Nothing like working in the garage when it's in the high 90's, better than the 105 expected today I guess :D

I may have mentioned before that the Trail Gear 67" sliders I bought came with 12" notched legs and I order the frame plates for extra support. Well the 1.75" legs were too short so I picked up some 2" .120 wall to extend them.

Anyway, here are some pics of the install.

and I made these mounts for the hi-lift jack using some of Kert's 1/2" wingnuts.

When you were welding on the frame rail, did you do anything on the inside to protect the brake/fuel lines, electrical, etc? Undo them and space them out temporarily, welding rag or something to protect from the heat, other?

the taillights are the only wiring on the DS, pulled that back a bit. On the pass side I pulled back the fuel lines for the front most plate welding. The center plate is not welded yet on that side because I need to figure out a way to pull that back, my muffler is right there and in the way. I think I might buy some sort of heat wrap for that section of fuel plumbing.

Those sliders turned out great:waytogo:

Very nice work sir.

Thanks

I hope it doesn't get stolen when you're not looking. I wonder if you should put a lock on it somehow.

Remember to post lots of pics of your Rubicon trip so the rest of us schmucks can live vicariously through your thread.
