some random pics from the Fordyce trip. We had a fair amount of rain, hail, lighting and thunder. The group consisted of a YJ, CJ, FJ40, K5 and my K10.

This was a father daughter trip btw, 5 rigs and we each brought a daughter. Some of the girls hadn't been four wheeling before including my daughter who can't wait to go again.

On the way out fordyce trail I noticed two bolts were missing from the anti-wrap which I thought was odd but it was possible they came loose. After further inspection I came to the conclusion that the anti-wrap was binding quite a bit, enough to bend a 9/16" bolt. I believe the 2 missing bolts were sheared off since the holes no longer align. Secondly, I apparently forgot to swap out the 5/8' heim bolt for a shoulder bolt when I was mocking up the rear suspension.

I'm pretty sure this started binding when I swapped out the 6 degree shims for the 4 degree last year when I was experiencing driveline vibes on the highway. I don't remember adjusting the heim therefore the anti-wrap was fighting the leaf springs. At least that's my working theory based on the axle position at rest disconnected from the leafs.

I also found a shim coming out on the passenger front (top) after breakfast on our last day at Fordyce. After I pulled I removed my bump pad from the u-bolt plate I found a snapped centering pin. The bottom half of the pin was still centered on the axle but the top half that held the top shim was broken. I loosened up the studs and u-bolt, hammered the shim back in and tightened it up. It held up fine for the 3 hours of wheeling out and the one hour drive home. I picked up some new ruffstuff u-bolts, WFO centering pins and WFO Dana 60 u-bolt studs last week. I pulled it apart yesterday finally and found a hammered center pin and my leafs are pretty well fk'd.

Right where the shim makes contact with the leaf it's shaped like a spaghetti noodle.

I was able to secure a new pair of Pro Comp 13311 springs locally that I'll pickup tomorrow. I'm interested to see if my gangster lean is cleared up with the new springs and bushings on all 4 corners.

Someone say

On the Fordyce trip there was a group of six figure jeeps with a full video crew running the same direction as us. They ended up camping within our site at the base of WH1 on the first night. Several videos have been posted all over social media however this video has a little cameo of my truck passing them on the trail when they got stuck in the mud.
Fast forward to 13:20 if you don’t want to watch the whole thing.

That was sweet man. From what I watched, that chick seems like the coolest one out of them all by far.

Yeah, your cameo was the best part. That video flows like a commercial
:surepal:

they were definitely there to procure marketing materials for their clients. They lasted one night and drove out without running the difficult part of the trail (committee, WH3, WH4 & WH5)

I dropped the belly skid to look over everything and found the adapter bolts to transmission bolts were a little loose. I noticed a very small amount of transmission fluid dripping off the skid when I parked with the nose up on the driveway so the loose bolts explain that. I also found a bolt missing on my 3” exhaust flange so the gasket was blown out. I put a new gasket on and added some pinch bolts to keep that fkr nice and tight. I also noticed my stick on heat shield (under the drivers feet) was partially detached so I added some gorilla tape as a temporary fix for the upcoming trip. Everything else looked pretty good under there.

only pic I took....
