Kinda funny the early 70s dodges had similar mounting from the factory.. I don't see the benefit besides articulation.. You would need a pretty stiff shock if you in board it too far..

Also by inboarding you increase wheel travel.

This.

I've just re-re-re-done my shock mounts back to close-to-factory. Mine were tilted so far over that my fairly soft-valved Bilsteins were providing essentially no actual effect, which made going over bumps quite exciting. Never mind cornering. :eek1:

Though my trigonometry is rusty, I think that at a 45* angle you're losing ~30% of your shock's effectiveness. If you have very stiff shocks, or they're adjustable, that might work out okay. In my case, not so much.

Anyway, food for thought.

I've thought about that and with the position options of the upper DIY4X crossmember I think I can find a happy medium.

Parts have started to arrive so I can get back to work :D

I traded my trash night bumper with the ramsey winch for these 16" Mickey Thompson classics. These are the OG made in the USA wheels, not the later Chinese wheels

Decided it was best to remove the bed so I could deal with the shocks, anti-wrap, move the mufflers and mount the rear bumper. Later that day I went to go start the truck and move it into the garage and the starter blew apart :doah:

The starter always sounded like $hit, I knew it wasn't shimmed right so this wasn't a big surprise. I was also glad it happened in my driveway and not out on the trail somewhere. I put a new starter in and it's quiet like it should be.

Removed the B52's and sold them to a CK5 member. You can see both axle seals puking on the floor.....

If your wondering why I sold the B52's it's because I finally stepped up and bought the A-Bomb from Kert. I also purchased a 12K winch with a synthetic line. The A-Bomb will be here today along with some other parts from DIY4X and the winch will hopefully be here by weeks end. Also bought an ARB tree saver strap, couple shackles to start a recover kit.

I was messing around with the shock location last night and I'm pretty sure I can fit them behind the axle which is great.I could also mount them on top of the axle housing, I'll dig into this more after the Detroit and the Backbone are installed.

Looks good! You have no idea how bad i wish i could pull the bed off on my truck! Makes life much easier.

What brand winch did you get? Hopefully you wont have to use it on me in May lol!! :haha:

Yep.... and with all new hardware, cordless impact and a cherry picker I had it off in ten minutes.

I went with an Engo Winch, hopefully neither one of us need it :D

Nice parts:waytogo:......no homo

I'm glad to hear you went with the Engo. Let us know what you end up thinking of it. I've heard nothing but good reviews.

Me too and I'm hoping it works well.....Kay86K5 has the 10K Engo in his A-Bomb but I haven't seen or heard much about them otherwise on CK5.

A buddy of mine that owns Hired Gun Offroad sells them. They said they love the crap out of them. Not a lot of complaints from customers.

I was so glad to see this show up wrapped in plastic rather than some huge box full of those packing peanuts that Kert likes so much :haha:

Dude that looks killer! :waytogo:

I had a big ass bumper, kind of like the old warn bumper but bigger. Would be great for taking out trash cans but the approach angle suffered a lot with it.
