Suck about the intake

What damper did you get?

That might not work for you. Says not to spin it past 6

never put one of those on in a truck. Anyone try that?

I really need to start reading the descriptions better on summit when I buy parts.

Ordered 7 more rod bearings :rotfl: hopefully they get here tomorrow so I can assemble the engine.

Been doing a little research on the th400 kick-down system and found that our trucks had a switch on the throttle pedal that sends 12v to the solenoid on the trans. My truck has the correct bracket to hold the switch so I'm thinking I'll swing by the Pick and Pull and see if I can find a th400 squarebody to rob the switch and maybe some of the wiring if it looks to be worth it.

Seems simple enough :dunno:

its that simple.. i actually used to pull the switch by hand if i didnt get the kickdown when I wanted it..(long arms)

Good to know, I'm 6' 4" with monkey arms.

I've read that some guys have mounted a switch on the dash but I don't see the advantage of that setup (outside of laziness to set it up correctly).

It might be nice to have an extra that you can push when you want.. almost like a grade gear switch without having to shift into 2nd??

The switch is definitely a PnP part, but the harness is just a coupla spades, IIRC, so it's easy to wire up.

I seem to recall Ryoken talking about a muscle car with the it hooked to the horn button :haha:

like a ghetto tow/haul button :D

Spoke to the machine shop and he was able to salvage the 9/16 threads and go a little deeper in the crank. It's being cleaned up and polished now so I can pick it up this afternoon :saweet:
