Oh geez, just went back a page and saw the news about the pup... very sorry to hear that. RIP
Nice. I had him make a couple for my old Land Cruiser and was impressed. I'll probably go with something like that for mine.
Seeing yours on the road again makes me super jealous... as soon as this heat dies down, I'll get back the shop. If you ever make it up here to Oregon... we also have room and some trails that would be fun to run. Nothing like the Rubicon but fun all the same.
I didn't have too many options on the front shaft since my operating angle was around 22 degrees (t-case flange) at ride height plus the slip I needed. Obviously links with a high pinion axle would have avoided all of this.....
I hear ya on the heat, I had to invest in a couple more fans for the garage to make it bearable. Suppose to be under a 100 this weekend finally. I'm ready for some cooler weather.
I'd love to make it up to Oregon sometime, thanks for the invite.
My operating angle is going to be awful... Pretty sure I'll be in the same boat but even worse. If you get a chance (or maybe you already have the numbers) would you mind sharing the distances between your axle yokes and xfer case front/rear?
Thank you! I just wanted to get an idea of where I'd be. My xfer case(s) are clocked down a bit but I'm pretty sure my ride height is a bit taller. I pushed my front axle all the way forward on the b-52s and 1" back on the rear. I'm worried that my rear shaft is going to be really short. Both of my axle yokes are 1410 and haven't decided on xfer yokes yet... probably will be flanges as well.
Hey Skunked, you making BB?
you're not going to break your rig before I get to see it run.....again, are you? who breaks their S on the driveway to the Rubicon?

I know it may be too late, but I've had the best results with heat shielding applied to the underside of the cab.
The first year we took the crew cab to Blazer Bash I hadn't made provisions for a phone charger. The first night off the trail I was wiring something up for a charger. Didn't realize how important it would be. Should have know because I use my phone for speedometer and route finding on the trail.
Then don't scrap those wheels. Those are the good 16.5" wheels with the factory safety bead.

good to know, I never paid much attention. I actually have 6 of them, bought them with tires for $60 as rollers.
