You keep that sawzall away from that truck!! in fact just put that thing in the garbage where it belongs lol.

Yea, i try to keep it on pavement only, No sand dunes around here. There is plenty of mud but I don't have the heart to do that. I like trail riding though.

Mo Pics

Well here's some pics with the top off, sittin on some blocks 18" high with the sway bar still hooked up. Could not get the tires to rub :dunno:. Enjoy

they'll be more likely to rub when its turned farther. Find a ditch to drive it down in, or a small wall around town. If you misjudge and fall off those blocks you might be doing body work anyway:whistle::D

AHHHH YEAH!!!! That looks awesome man!!!:thumb:

I feel much better now by the way lol.

You've given me the motivation to try and find a spot to flex out tomorrow... thank you sir :D

Gears

So I am thinking the next on the list is gears for my 10 & 12 bolts. Considering that I have 35's the best set up would be 4.56:1 ? Now this is something that I would have to have a pro to do since I have zero knowledge inside straight axles. It currently has 3.73:1 gears now, not sure what type locker or anything.

I would really like to learn how to do a gear swap, I would like someone that knows what they are doing to help though the first time. Not planning on changing mine for a while though... well until I blow them:whistle:

gears depend on what trans you have. If you have overdrive, go 4.56, if not 4.10

Yea I have the 700r4, sad thing is that I have the 10 bolt and the 12 bolt, but for all I do it does fine.

Have I ever said that I hate collector gaskets? That is what I have been doing today. I used to burn the paper gaskets about once a month, so I tried the soft aluminum ones which lasted a little longer. Today I bought the copper ones. Lets just say that it still leaks. The main problem is that the flange ring on the header has bent over keeping it from making a good contact all the way around. I tried bending it back and we will see how it works later.

cut off the flange and clamp the tube on, 100% leak free until the exhaust rusts through

well, thats a little easier said than done... ya need to weld a slip-on collector on first... imo, the best way to go, better than the much hailed ball/flange setup everyone loves... it's one of the ones I've been espousing in here for years, yet I've never seen anyone do it other than me...

well, here's the ones in my wishlist that i may order later this week with my headers...

those are 2.5 to 2's... you cut off the 3-bolt flange, weld those on, then slip the pipe on and clamp it...

I'm doing hookers, modding em with those and an O2, then shipping em off to Jethot...

Sweet, I need to go measure my pipes to see if they will work. I know I have 3" collectors and then it reduces down to I think 2.5" all the way back.

they are available in different in's and out's, just do the summit search for header reducers...

technically the ones I posted aren't weld-ons cuz the hookers are 2.5 collectors, the "weld-on's" are only available in 3" and up collectors, but the ones I posted can be welded too.. you'll see all that in the search part section "collector attachment"

here's the only 3" to 2.5" weld-on they have listed.. little bit priceyier than mine..

here's some slip ons like i posted that could be welded for less coin..

Before you take a saw to those pretty fenders, I would look into a 1" body lift from ORD or some zero rates. That thing is a driver, and a pretty one at that. Keep the saw away from it!

Yea, I don't plan on cutting anything yet. I will just keep it on the pavement.

Flooding

So last week my truck cut off on me and it was flooding, Held the pedal to the floor and got it started and drove it back to the house, while the thing kept wanting to cut off, drove it like I stole it to get it home. Would run fine WOT and sputtered part throttle and would not idle. Got it home and saw that it was flooding (gas flowing into the carb with engine off). Also the see through fuel filter was slammed filled with gas (use to keep an air bubble in it) looked like it was gonna bust. So I'm thinking either fuel pump check valve bad or return line clogged. So I replaced the pump and blew air through the return line and all works good........until the truck cuts off again. Hmmmmmmm...........So I take the Edelbrock 1406 off (1 year old) and checked the float level, i adjusted them slightly when I decided to take the floats off and give them a shake, yep, gas in one of them. Now waiting till tomorrow morning for Advance to get the new floats in. What a day.
