My rig is about to get the same fuel supply treatment as desertk5’s when I did the genV swap. Gm14C tank, FG12L sending unit and EP381 pump. Tired of listening to the external Bosch 044 and issues I’ve had with it.
Also got some heat wrap on the moofla. It’s only about half an inch away from the floor and you can smell hot carpet lol.
I think you should leave the excess bands.

Ok, update on the muffler wrap. Apparently my muffler gets over 700 degrees, because the wrap basically caught on fire lol. I smelled it big time when I got on the freeway. Nothing bad but it scorched it completely black. I started doing more research and apparently the stuff I got is only rated to 700f and it says stock vehicles only. For high performance and race applications use form-a-shield (good to 1400f)
The white backing is the muffler wrap, the brown fiberglass stuff is the form-a-shield
That seems a bit excessive, you sure it's not running over/under fueled?
It is a little hot haha. It’s fueled/timed good. It’s just that all 8 cylinders funnel immediately into a little flowmaster with very little pipe.
Whats the temp right at bend coming out of the head? I measured mine a few years back and they were all around 600ish. Be interesting to see if it's actually getting that hot.
