'84 K5 Build (Midlife Crisis)

I'm going to get new springs also. What did you get as far as lift and weight ratios.

I ordered 5" lift up front and 0 lift out back. Have a shackle flip and zero rate for rear. As far as weight they just ask you a bunch of questions about your rig. Engine winch bumpers top spares cargo all that stuff.

Thanks. Right now I got sucked into the cooling system on this thing. Doing intake manifold gaskets and new water pump and stuff. Not fun but gotta get it done.

Got the engine cross member replaced tonight. I am very impressed how well it bolted up. Thought for sure I would fight lining up the holes. Fit perfectly.

IMG_4646.JPG IMG_4642.JPG IMG_4645.JPG Made a little progress today. Got the 14 bolt out of the k10 and the 10 bolt outta the K5. Also got the shackle flip kit removed from the k10. My PSC stuff finally showed up today.

IMG_4648.JPG Ok. The k10 is back together. All stock suspension off the K5. Got the psc pump mounted and the pressure line hooked up. I think I'm going to have to build the shock hoops to have a good place to mount the psc reservoir. Gonna drop the fuel tank to make it easier to bolt up the shackle flip kit. Gotta replace the fuel sending unit anyway.

Thank you! I appreciate it. I'm not happy unless I'm working on something in the garage. I think it's a disease lol.

So you have a sweet short box your pulling parts off of to put on the k5? And then your getting rid of it?

Yeah, that short bed has been around for 15 yrs. My best friend bought it originally. I always did all the work on it for him. His wife blew up the engine and it sat in his driveway for a couple years. He didn't have the money to fix it so I bought if off him super cheap. Built a new 383 stroker for it. I had already built a "Raptor" 700r-4 for it a few years ago. As soon as I put the new 35's on it, first test drive it grenaded the 10 bolt carrier. Built a 14 bolt sf with arb airlocker under it. Truck is awesome but....I can't fit all three kids with me. And my soon to be ex says it's half hers. My best friend is/was her brother in law. I told her she could have it but I'm removing all the stuff and putting it back to stock. Enter the blazer.

First test drive completed. Think I need a new rear driveshaft with a double cardan. Vibrates like it has super swampers. But man o man is the ride soft. Already love these springs.
