'84 K5 Build (Midlife Crisis)

You can get them off ebay or amazon. They work great. The only skidplate is the stock tank skid.

My neighbor brought home his block checker stuff
And there was nothing we could do to get it to change colors. So apparently no head gasket/crack issues. Its still running funny though. I bought a new set of plugs to go in it after i do a compression test. Maybe it has another sticky valve or burnt one. I dont know yet. I know I have to rod the radiator whether i scrap the bbc or not. We'll see...

On the tailgate swap what's needed and does it bolt right up?

Doesn't matter what year blazer or what year tailgate. Just make sure all you get all of the tailgate hardware with the tailgate and it will bolt up.

Blazers/Jimmy's have all of the provisions for the tailgate to bolt in.

Make sure you grab the rubber bumpers too, keep the tailgate from rattling.

Got the radiator out and dropped off at pickarts. See what he says tomorrow hopefully. I guess I could start swapping out my pedal assembly while I wait.
Anybody have an xj steering shaft for cheap?

Welp, as I kind of figured would be the case, my radiator core is shot. He said it was plugged up pretty bad (hence the overheating). A third of the tubes are corroded through bad enough he'd have to pinch em off to seal it up. And it wont last. Said id be throwing my money away. So I have a high effeciency 4 row being built now. More money I dont have. Lol

I still do. That same radiator and fan setup came out of the stroker truck and never even thought about getting hot.

I figure the radiator needed to be done whether i yank the bbc out for the stroker or not. Im going to give it one more chance with the new radiator and if it even thinks about getting hot i'll have a gen v bbc for sale on craigslist. Lol

The stroker has every right to be mad at me. It's only had one oil change since I built it and that was to get rid of the break-in oil. I'll bet it only has 25 hrs on it.
Kachow! That old rad would cool two hondas:D
