'84 K5 Build (Midlife Crisis)

So the Warn 12k winches are chinese? @imiceman44

Nice winch @Fastereddie
Warn is a US company in Oregon I think. They do build bumpers and some winches in the US still but supposedly all the new VR series winches are made in China. I would prefer to have a “Warn” but I can buy 2-3 of these for the price of their comparable winch. I usually try and buy USA, but sometimes I say F it, lol. I need beer money.

The Warn 12K VR series is $670 with steel cable, is that the one you guys are talking about? Or are you looking at the Zeon series?

I've had a couple winches blow out the tie bars. The big thing I wonder about the style like @Fastereddie got is if they will hold up better in that regard. The cross tying seems to be a lot stouter.

I was referring to the zeon 12-s, which is what this badlands is compared too. The retail for the warn is $1780.00. And that doesn’t have a wireless remote.
I’m sure you can add one though. The zeon 12-s platinum, that has a wireless remote, but it’s like $2500.00:eek::eek:

I’m in the K5, I come around the corner on my street. My neighbor’s kid comes around the corner the other direction. We stop, say “what’s up, how’s it going” bla bla, he says “where ya going?” I say
“The grocery store”. He says, “in THAT?” Lol!
I guess the Blazer’s not considered a grocery getter? Wth? Haha!

When I had a K5 here in Colorado, I swear the registration said station wagon.

My 75's registration said that. I tried to get recreational truck plates for it and got into an argument with the clerk. She said as long as the title doesn't say truck I could not get the plates.

I was just going to add that, and I think that’s valid.

I do know the stock block LT1 with just exhaust, tune, and TB/cold air will make 460 lb/ft at the flywheel. That’s impressive for any NA small block

I just ordered this.

According to accufab, the dual 60mm off a mustang flows 1147cfm, so dual 58’s should be around there
