Rebuilt the springs using this web site for directions and the uhmw .030 x 2.5 between each leaf info. Also started on the 1 ton cucv 14 bolt what a pain in the ars that was removing the old spring pearches. Also welded the ord steering brace and will be welding the engine crossmember in. I used ord for the spring bushings and diy for the rear lift end shackle. The diy is very beefy :D

just to bust your balls a bit i see you read the directions on not to fully weld the repair plates to the frame on the steering box section.

and are you going to run a bolt in brace kit ?

looks nice also.

I'm use to having my balls busted, I've got a wife of 19 years and 4 kids:D Actually I read the directions and saw where it was mentioned at least 4 times not to fully weld but I'm kind of a renegade. I don't want crud getting back behind the plate and have decided not to box the frame for the same reason, and the bolt on brace won't fit with the cummins. There will be 3 extra cross members when all is said and done plus what ever my imagination can dream up.
When the axles and drive train is set in place I will be taking a hard look for places to beef up the frame and suggestions from the ck5 members.

Thanks for your input;)

Well got alot done this weekend and looking forward to doing the front but will have to wait a few weeks.

:waytogo: Looks really nice!! Are you going to do crossover steering, and thus waiting on cleaning up the steering components? Is that why everything is beautiful except the tierod, knuckles, steering arm?

Haven't decided on crossover yet but I will be tearing the axles down to the knuckles to check everything out and will paint upon reinstall. The axles only have 37k on then but are 25 years old plus nows a good time to see how they come apart:D Same with the rear as far as brakes and the hubs go.

Productive Friday and Saturday:D
Think I'm gonna move the rear axle back an inch.
Then gonna set the rear pinion angle.
Build my exhaust down pipe.
Modify the factroy t-case crossmember a little.
Then pull the body and finish up the brake lines, fuel lines, exhaust and build a traction bar:D
So far I'm very pleased with the way things are going back together.

Havn't checked in in a while, just went thru all pages. Looks like it's coming along nicely. Can't wait to see it in action. Keep at it man.

Thanks guys.
:D

Edit; Think I got room for some 37"/38" tires which is good due to the 4.56 gears but will have to wait till I wear or burn these off first:D

hmmm any updates :D

Not really, haven't really touched it since October. I was actually on Summit Racing the other day looking at 4" exhaust 90s, 45s and a 4' section of strait pipe to build my down pipe and system but it came to like 160.00 so I figured I'd wait till after the holidays are over and paid for;)
