On another note, I have been driving it for a while now, and a few things happened:
I was driving and stopped at a light, and it got out of gear. took me while to realize the tcase was the problem I put it in 4wd hi, no change.
Put it in low and it went, switched back to hi and it still worked.
It happened a few times when I break a little hard, so looking at previous threads, I checked the fluid level and it was extremely low.
Topped it off and it got better but still occasionally happened.
I am guessing that the lack of lubrication caused the wear pads on the forks to wear down and now there's play.
I have options so I will make decision after solving the other issue.
The other issue is transmission.
It was a good used transmission that sat for a few years outside, covered.
It runs good the first 5-10 minutes, then it starts to go from 2nd to 3rd with a little quick slip, I call it slips into 3rd.
I also sometimes have to wait a couple of seconds before it goes when I put it in reverse.
I was thinking probably a filter and fluid change, but it if that doesn't work then I have a 4l80e with the standalone controller from a 92 that I parted, and at that point I will put one of my 32 spline tcases, 208 or 241.
One thing I want to comment about, adding the turbo made difference in driveability but it's still not where it should be, maybe because I didn't adjust the fueling.
I haven't done any of this before, I seems to vaguely remember something about timing on the IP, but also some other adjustments inside the IP.
I could use some help on this.
I want to do this in small increments and just do enough to get a little more out of it, I don't want to end up with a bunch of black smoke.
