85 Jimmy's, always something build.

I’ve been slowly plugging away at the Chevelle. Swapped to discs on the front from an 04 corvette with tubular control arms. Discs in the rear from an 04 camaro with the built in parking brake shoes. Smoothing our the firewall now, then I’ll put the engine in, for motivation to buy a transmission.

I ordered the parts to fabricate the front doubler crossmember for the blazer, just haven’t welded anything together.. it’s what I should be messing with, since it requires less work. But I work on the Chevelle for some reason.

Just collecting parts, it’s in Virginia. I’ve got everything to swap it to 4 wheel discs and to swap the 6 cylinder to a 302 that I have already

Let's see, some stuff has happened.

Just took vacation and swapped the mustang to V8 suspension and steering, changed the rear axle, and converted it to 4 wheel disc. Right now I'm putting together a mild 302 for it, E303 cam, aluminum heads, just odds and ends to make it look like a factory 289.

Ordered pushrods for the 454 going in the chevelle, but now they're too big for the guide plates, so I ordered guide plates and the should be here this week. It's too hot to do anything, but I've also been smoothing out the firewall. Have a flywheel, clutch kit, and bellhousing, just need a transmission.

And onto the blazer. Ordered and have a driveshaft from a f250 powerstroke. Have the flange for the back of the doubler, have the crossmember a all done. Need to go to the only local driveshaft shop and see how/where they want me to measure the shaft to shorten it.

Also got a new job working in the ER, still working nights, but I like the atmosphere better.

@85 Jimmy some of us will be getting together in your area Aug 3rd, don't miss the fun! (see regional forum)

I don't have a place to keep it down here. In Virginia it's kept in a garage, so it will stay there until I have a garage to keep it in.

Did something with the blazer. Got the rear driveshaft shortened, swapped from long tube headers to midlengths. Also ordered up enough (I hope) exhaust tubing to reroute the exhaust and make a y pipe. Guess I should also mount the shifters, but need to cut up some of the floor.

Haven’t done much... Have the cable shifters on the kitchen counter... Still need to lengthen the front driveshaft so I can get the exhaust done. After that I’ll be able to drive it. I guess I could drive it now if I manually put the tcases in 2 hi.

Since my last post, I've installed the shifters, and rear driveshaft. Put new bearings in the rear because I thought it was making noise, but the noise is still there. So the only thing left in the transmission making noise on deceleration.

Haven't done anything to it in awhile. Baby momma drama has me in and out of court and paying more to lawyers than I ever cared to...

I can’t remember, does the rear driveshaft have a CV?
