85 Suburban. Back in the shop

The fronts do rub too.

Gonna put the axle back a lil first then see where I need to cut. Got my plasma fixed and bottles filled I'm ready for some time to start cutting and grinding again.

Well winter projects are always slow around here. But got some new oil cooler lines made, and huge radiator for it. The beast 34x20 radiator iirc.

New trans cooler hoses and fixing all the Crap the PO had on here.

And contemplating removing the AC lines and related parts as I will.never run AC in it.

Well I would like to run an air compressor where the AC compressor is, and I never use it especially in the mountains.

Drive in winter/ play toy. I have other rigs I'll keep AC in

Worked a little last night. It's just in getting mocked up

An out of the way crossmember, And put in new engine mounts.

Pic sucks, but the welds don't look as booggered up as the picture make them. I have diamond guessets over the joint.

I want to add a track bar mount to drivers side

Ok more done,

New Rad is in, new rad hoses & that pain in the azz BB chevy by pass hose, new Trans cooler lines and new oil lines on, and oil change.

new engine mounts, Engine crossmember done, welded in a front crossmember in place of that lower brace thats in the way of everything.

pics coming

Now 63/64 with questions.

Question? How does the shackle angle look to you all. I'm satisfied but wanted to check before I burn in the front hangers.

Pic 1 is un loaded
Pic 2 is all weight on it
pic 3 is the sping itself.

the only weight not there is the fuel tank and rear tire.

NOTE, Those weak shackels are for set up only, they are too weak to run and I dont trust them. DIY shackels will be coming this week.

Hanger mounted

And going to strengthen the inside of the frame where the rear shackle is.

The cardboard is what I'm going to plate with 3/16 plate

the angle looks good but those springs are pretty flat, so even during uptravel the shackle isn't going to move backwards much. You could get away with moving the hangers closer together. This would give you more droop.

However, all I do is read stuff and really know nothing. :)

Oh I hear ya, move the front one back a bit. And now I have a 7.5 shackle but going with a 7.0. Not much difference, but a little

If you plan on ditching the A/C and all it's related parts, shoot me a PM so I can make an offer on it. I'd like to reinstall the A/C stuff on my 'burb that the previous owner took off so it's nicer to drive on long trips.

I have some of it. One line was frozen and it twisted. The condenser is good with all mounts. I'm going to leave the whole AC box for now. Compressor was in plugged, but the system was dry.

Heck ill give you what I have.

I have the AC box and the accumulator, I just need everything else like the lines, compressor,(and all it's brackets), condenser, etc.

Just shoot me a PM when you're ready to get rid of the AC stuff. I really appreciate it.

Spare tire and a full fuel tank are alot of weight, your springs are flat loaded so unless they go into a reverse arch you should be ok
