'86 Jimmy 4in Lift, 40’s, tons, 8.1 Swap- 700r4 said PNNNNN

This is not a dedicated trail rig, but does trailer to the destination usually. I am currently in the planning phase of doing a 52/56" spring swap, and getting back to being more road worthy.
That's like the eleventyith time I've done it that way, but I am all ears.

What's the issue?

I could make some brackets real easy, so I suppose I will.

the zip ties CAN saw thru the rad... it happened to me like 25 yr's ago... I've heard of others having the same... guaranteed to happen? no, but I'll never chance it again...

So what says the CK5 gods about going with a heat sync, instead of a cooler like this one? Or is it just preference?

Nice progress :waytogo:

YES YES YES

last time I used those ties they punctured a brand new radiator.

I've heard of it, but just never had it happen. I will get something done soon either way.

Any body got opinions on heat syncs vs. coolers like I'm currently using?

I have a cooler just like yours. It works fine. I have never have had a heat sync.

just trying to save ya a rad man.... :dunno:

it's a tube/fin, not as good as a stacked plate but certainly better than nothing, I ran a TCI one I had from back in the day for yr's... certainly helps..

No, I appreciate the help. Just making sure I don't waste any more monies.

Any ideas on how to mount this? No mounting bosses or tabs on this at all:dunno:

you could probably get away with one rubber padded one at each end on the u-tube section like I did (thing only weighs a few ounces prolly)..

or maybe some sort of "J" hook-y type bracket tabs that just hook those end plates..

maybe bend some up out of sheetmetal.. shaped kinda like this..

I have used some rubber coated (insulated) line holder thing-y in the past.

bet you could use a couple of insulated line clamps at either end around the tubes...

I have a single one of these holding mine. I was always going to do something for the other side. I haven't really gotten around to it yet..........
