Yep, I can't hear shit in my ford with a 12 valve(the phone, kids in the back seat, nothing). Doesn't help that my shift boot is pretty much MIA. I'd love to gut it and do some sound proofing.I'm pretty sure this is a good reason to do like an 8.1 or Cummins or something. Just make the engine louder most noises magically cure themselves. Right? I mean that's how it works right???????

New clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder went in last night. Clutch is totally silent now.
@Kay86K5
Oh, and I have boiled down my little tick I was tracking down to a simple little header/exhaust leak...something I'll get fixed later on.
Also, my sister is moving to Pocatello this weekend...so I'll probably be around your part of the state more often as time goes by. Next time we come down that way, I'll let you know and we can try to meet up. I think our crew cab's need to meet, haha
You are going to love it. Your setup with 4 tcase gear ranges is probably as close to perfect as can be had. Did you mod your shift rails to get front wheel drive only too?2wd lo range has been something I've been looking forward to also.
Makes me wonder what lead plate @mrk5 is smuggling
Hopefully I'll have another weight soon to see what the 454 & 4l80 did to the weight. Then is something was way off the first time, I'll know it.Makes me wonder what lead plate @mrk5 is smuggling
That's perfect timing lol... I'm going out to pick one up like yours but all stock and have been pondering over what it will weigh. Now I know, +/- 100# or soInteresting data point. I hauled a load of tree branches to the landfill today and got the weight for my empty truck when I left.
6270 lbs (empty with no people)
The truck specs are 350/NV4500/NP205 D60/14BFF (single wheel), 250 lbs of fabricated bumpers, 12K winch with steel cable. 16.5” aluminum wheels and 37” MTR military tires (and a matching spare), 10ish gallons of fuel onboard, and a hi-lift jack. The factory seats and sheet metal is mostly all there (it’s dented and beat but intact) minus a little fender trimming. It has no carpet or other floor covering at present either.
I’ve eyeballed that cc at Eric’s a few times, It is good project starter for sure.That's perfect timing lol... I'm going out to pick one up like yours but all stock and have been pondering over what it will weigh. Now I know, +/- 100# or so![]()
