86 K5 -"Jacob's monster truck" with a Cummins swap

Subscribed- That's just what I'm trying to do but i can't put the time and effort into it . It looks great! Color choice yet?

What are the brass fittings on the crossmember for? Or should it be obvious?

Dave (dcubb) built the crossmember, he add's the fittings to use a place to hook your axle vent line to. Kind of cool, helps to reduce the clutter.

Sweet looking build. Someday I will attempt a frame off, right now I just want to drive it.

BTW...subscribed!!

I wish I really had the time as well ! My frame is at my shop/office for our construction company, all the work done there is a result of me coming in 1-2 hours early a few days a week. The rest of the truck is in my garage and as much as I love that Jake is already so into it, I really can't do any "work" with him out there with me it's just not safe. Most of my work at home starts when he goes to bed (8:30 -9pm) and goes untill I am too tired to safely operate power tools :D. I hope to have the underside of the body done this weekend and put the frame back in next week. As soon as I get that done I can start on full vert work.

Color.....funny story.....I was flipping through a Summit cat. and looking at their paint colors, Jake wanted to see what I was doing so I asked him "what color should we paint the Blazer"? I had kind of wanted to do a blue but wasn't sure yet , he looked at the page and pointed out one of the colors I liked and said "I like that one daddy, color MY blazer that one". He since has picked the same color for my wife, and his Grandpa. So I think that this will be the color

Very nice. I like your front spring hangers. Looks like you are doing this the way most of us would like to, all at once and right.

So I pulled a late night in the garage last night, wanted to do more but I got to that point where I was too tired to be playing with power tools :D.

I accomplished a decent amount, goal was to work on prepping the underside of the tub and find any rust spots now a deal with them.

Well enough words on to some pics..............

Found one or two spots of that four letter word that so many of us hate (r**t) not too bad, easy fix later on.

Not sure what I will get done this weekend but I hope to finish up the underside and have it ready for paint.:D

Nice work but I would consider 52's up front or at least get the shackle angle better for the stock length springs

i'm quite envious of that underside, everytime i'm underneath my truck I eat enough dirt to get my year's worth of iron:doah:. awesome build, it's gonna be sweet!

Do the windstar fans fit a stock '88 k5 350 radiator?

They are very close, for the price you can get them for (generally) they are a steal. Do a search for "windstar fans" here in the garage, you will find lots of pics of different ways guys have mounted and wired them. I read a post about using them a while back and thats how found out.:D

Nice work so far, so clean and shiny!:D

What are you spraying on the underside? Just paint, bedliner, undercoating? Anything special?
