87' GMC Custom Crew Cab Short Bed CUMMINS!

So do you know him?
I was trying to see the blazer frame but just now I was finally able to see the spring hanger, it is the same one.
Been a while since I saw Chris, where is he at these days?

No I don't know him.
Just really like his 55.:thumb:

Still alive:)

Well after running around like a chicken with my head cut off I seemed to have found a way to land back on the crew cab project... Today I worked on setting up the firewall and welded in about 2/3 of it. My plan is to box in the front 2/3's of the frame rails, finish the firewall / floor, set up my seat frame, and officially drop in the cummins drive train.... Here we go!

GREAT! ALL this thread does is make me want to work on my crew cab damnit! I have a K5 to finish first and can't work on it cause I have cancer I'm healing from and will have to recover from the financial crisis due to the cancer first for the next few years. :doah: BRUTAL!

Good for you for making progress on your rig. someday.....someday I hope. :o

I like the idea of the fire wall modification. Good to get back on old projects. Sometimes breaks are good. Keeps you fresh with ideas

Very clean and professional! Subscribed!

Man... I hope you get well soon.. Does not sound fun what you are going through...

Frame Prep... Filled in all the holes that are not being used, and welded nuts to the inside frame rail for the bumper brackets, and shock mount bolts.

Fabricated in a new front crossmember out of 1/4" 4X6 Box tubing. I will be building one additional crossmember under the Cummins Oil Pan and likely in alignment with the engine mounts.

The frame will be boxed in completely from the leading edge of the frame to just behind the cab using 1/4 flat stock steel. To make for a clean even, and square box job I trimmed the upper and lower frame rails. The upper frame rail is 1 1/2" wide while the bottom is 2 1/2" wide...
Tomorrow I plan to build 1" longer front shackles, box in the frame rails, and possibly set the engine in for the first test fit... Crossing my fingers!

Power steering setup DONE! Tomorrow I have two more sleeves to fabricate for the brake line and I'll be dropping in the cummins to begin mocking up engine and transmission mounts... HERE WE GO!
