87 K5 Build...Hmmm, whats that Ryoken up to? stay tuned...

just bought a sweet coalescing filter for my pimp Quincy compressor... huge NOS Binks one for $50.. :woot: temporarily I'll hard plumb it right off the tank... eventually i'll do a 25' run up to the ceiling and down to a seperate mount.. than my 25' hose.. btw, still want decent air hose? as i thought, the Goodyears are still very nice..

well, coming up to a BIG week... working nightly... but about to go full bore... as usual, the project has gotten larger... have 2 major shoots coming up.. a copper.. then the satin black... i knew the black was a large shoot... but it turns out the copper will be just as big... I'm basically doing the whole truck, other than my cowl hood that's coming... well, that, and the ds qrt panel and fender fangs where i still need to finish the sectioning..

gotta stop at my paint guy to sign over my second child... I see a couple qrts of copper/clear in my near future.. and possibly a gallon of black Imron.. that'll make my wallet bleed...

many pics coming soon boys... :wink1:

:haha:

the blizzard put me a day or 2 behind, but I'll be shooting copper tomorrow hopefully... then black over the weekend.. :deal:

now all lousy pics can only be blamed on me! :haha:

After following your build all these years I may just have to fly out and see the finished job mate :D

Mind you, surely it'll be worth a place at SEMA won't it?!!!

hey Mark, great to hear from ya! hope all's good across the pond....

thanks! shootin copper this evening... finalwashing the cab this afternoon...

Sema.... I'd like to think I bring something to the table against other stuff that's around... I think some of it's pretty innovative...... but that gets a little too showtrucky for me....

to my eye, the truck wont be perfect for probably 5 more years... minus any carnage from romping it thru the woods... the final tune on the 383 will probably be that point...

but between now and then I'll do a stupidly extensive cross block and overshoot.... + any carnage repair... the factory doors have some goofy wave crap going on that annoys me... but I'll leave it like that for now... it is a freakin truck after all..... it's not perfect, but it should be a fun ride! :woot:

back to the damp/dry towel for me! :doah: :haha:

Yeah all is good here thanks! It would be pretty cool if you could get some recognition for your design and fabrication. You've got to at least get it in the magazines!!

might be easy, might not.. :dunno: i really have no clue how that operates.... wont be going out of my way for it.. sure ya wanna buy me lunch and take some photo's, have at it...

hehe, one thing i AM doing is sending some pics to Gears for Stacey's "what are you working on" thingy.... :woot: but i'll wait till it's roadworthy on that... i just wanna see him describing the truck!:rolleyes::popcorn:

masked.. ready to shoot... heating the garage and getting a few other parts ready... :pimp:

figures..... it seems like the new cam takes a nice photo.. now if i can get the goofy Kodak software to work right...

anyway, here's a couple off the old cam...

my new filter, timed getting that well.. thing is beefy....

Ryoken, you just need to put webcams (yes plural as in multiple) in your garage and stream them on the internet for all of us!

actually someone WAS doing that... iirc, it was 73k5blazer, (with the all fiberglass body)...

well, it's copper day... i decided to wait till today, got kinda late last night to be running the compressor... plus i wanna plumb in that new filter this morn.. pics tonight probably... :deal:

This much suspense usually leaves me feeling underwhelmed when I finally get to see what I wanted..........

But not with your stuff, it is always awe inspiring to see your updates and handiwork :waytogo:.

Keep it up, I can hardly wait to see her in clean contiguous color!!!!

well, it's no webcam, but here's a little glimpse of my day while i eat lunch... when i get done stuffing my face, I'll go back down and clear it out...

first coat of clear on....

while it's flashing, just some build notes I thought I'd mention, etc....

sheesh, chromabase (the copper) has gotten expensive as he!!... $400 a gallon... bought a qrt at $130 to go with the 1/2 qrt i had here.. have about a shotglass left... gonna need a couple more qrts to get it all in one color.... then i'll have to buy a gal in a year or so when i do the final block and overcoat....

whereas Imron clear has remained reasonable decent in price, at $120 a gal..

my one hinge has a whooped bushing.. so i'll be picking up a full set before rehangin the doors....

well, off to make it SHINEY! ;)

:thumb:Looks Amazing! I'm just down by annapolis, md i'm going to have to make a run up to see this sometime, this is one of my fav builds
