very, very lucky to have jobs...

destroying your yards reputation can have dire results in short order..

they've gone from a 25 craftsmen crew, to a skeleton staff...
The only reason that corporate marina is open is that the state marina across the street kicked all the boats out for a few yrs till they rebuild the facilities.. They ended up getting some of the boats for winter storage...
up till that point, they had been losing customers left and right, place was like empty... about a 1/2 dozen of those customers came down to us.. I just put 2 of them back in the water on thurs, recommisioned and set happily on there way to take the boats to their houses...
Even with that influx of boats, Dinckley is still in trouble over there.. we rode by on the water coming back on repo boats a couple times this winter, and the boat count was WAY down... thing is, that yard for the company is kinda used as a tax write-off anyway.. if they didn't have the 50 ton travel-lift, they'd be boarded up right now..
We've had quite a few of their customers inquire if they can come down to us, but we only have a 25 ton travel-lift, some of them, we just can't accommodate.. thus us strongly considering reconfiguring our yard with a bigger pit/lift, etc...
if it where up to me, all we would have is 30' to 60' sportfishes and express cruisers.. 1/2 our marina is 21' and under, which we've been losing customers on... with the economic times, those kinds of boaters can keep those boats on a trailer at their house... so we have open smaller slips, and our bigger slips are constantly full..
The other big group in our yard I have no use for, that slowly we'll get away from, are the blow boaters... cheaper than sin them people... most are whiney liberal types as you can imagine... "hey, the wind is free!!!"

throw in, they're a pain to work on..
working out of the house a couple days this coming week, got some paint work to do, couple radars and associated parts... and the dungeon is far better equipped for it...
