Sounds like a plan! You can have those Zero Rates. That's the least I can do for all the stuff you have helped me with! I even got the stickers from Vee that say Diy4x. I am placing an order tomorrow so next week will work. Come get those whenever you want! Thanks!
I just place an order with Kert at Diy4x. I ordered those dana 60 shock mounts and a Diff cover with the ram assist option. I'm doing that soon.
On a side note, I need to get these wheels ant tires clean so I can see if I did any damage to the tire. Its going to take awhile with the pressure washer! One is done, looks so clean!
I still have 3 to pressure wash. Not going to be fun. Been a little burn out working on this pig. I need to clean my garage, looks like a bomb went off. This week I'm going to work on the front end again. I'm going to put that leaf I took out back in. The front springs are starting to sag and flatten out. I need to install the drivers springless arm, and a few other. Things.I picked up a power inverter, need to install that. I have a Diy4x front diff cover with the hydro assist mounted to it. That should be here anytime. Need to start working on the hydro assist also. And all new shock mounts(6). I also picked up some speakers for the front and rear, and installed a big ass tierod from ORD! It is beefy!!!
Forgot, I installed the bottom leaf that I took out for more flex. The springs flattened out, so I put it back in. The drivers side was not that hard to do. The passenger side has got me stumped. I cannot for the life of me get one bolt off the U- Bolt. It is brand new, maybe 100 miles on it. WTF. I used a big breaker bar and the jack handle. I don't get it..
Question: can I buy 1 U-Bolt, or do I have to buy a whole kit?
Try puting the other nuts back on to take some of the pressure off the plate. then try to break it loose. then take them all off a little at a time. I think you must just have that one in a bind that si why it will not break loose.
You can buy just one U-bolt if you want... Truck shops usually have a bender and cut them to whatever length you want.
I would air on the safe side and replace it (actually all of them if it were me)... regardless of how many miles you have on it. Remember this thing gets airborne! and after the initial torque they've already been "stretched a little"
I thought I would post something here today. The newborn and the wife and work have been taking up most of my time. But I got some minor stuff done.
I went to the junkyard, cuz I was bored and found a junctionbox. I stole the idea from Joe(kidjethro). He put it on his rig, and I had some wires comming off the battery and it looked like crap, so I put it behind the drivers side hood hinge. That way wires going into the cab only need a few inches. I got some 4 gauge wire from a stereo shop and ran that to the battery.
I also finished the stereo. I used some quick disconnect thingys to secure the box, but very easy to take it out when I need to.
I also got the new regulator on there.
The 6x9s are in. I had to do some cutting to get them to fit. The magnet is pretty big, and the ones that were in there were installed 15 yrs ago. I guess a lot has changed in that time.
Thanks bud. Feels like its taking forever. I wish the wife would let me spend about 10K, I would be done with this. Next I'm buying a K5 blazer and going to build the crap out of it, and use the burb as a tow rig.
