Having trouble get heat to blow hot. Put a new heater core in when I got it going and I’ve never been able to get hot heat. Hoses going in and out of heater core are too hot to hold on to. Also has a new 190 degree thermostat. I’m about to take it to a shop but really don’t want to. Also the engine never warms up more than this. HELP

It's kinda funny; I noticed driving my 73 C10 for a couple days, it's running the same temperature. Now I'm curious if it's accurate or a faulty gauge. Warm air comes out the heater but not super warm. This is an AC truck.
 
I had one from Harbor Freight and I wasn't too impressed. I was thinking about getting one of those radiator caps with a temperature gauge built in.
