'88 Blazer 2016 Changes. Not many....Yea.

The top came from Soft Topper. Softtopper.com will give what you need.

Thanks, for the compliments. That trucks had a few different guys and brains to get it to what it is today and I'm pretty happy with it.

Yeah this was also my first time to see this thread. Very nice truck. I want to copy your blackout hood and your soft top. I love the stretched door too. What nice work.

So what color did you paint your blackout hood? Is it flat black? I've heard that flat black can mark up pretty bad after it gets weathered a bit.

It's flat black. It don't sit outside a whole lot and after one year it looks the same, so I'm not too concerned. We really painted it black because it isn't perfect and black hides the imperfections better than that orange. Plus I like it too. The same reason we painted the black in the tail gate. I didn't like the aluminum filler piece there so we filled the holes and painted it black too.

Need new rims/tires?

So, I need to go 4.10's and found a 44 and 14 ff and I'm installing them in couple of weeks. I hate my rims and tires but they were cheap and got me two years. What combination would look good on my rig? Light to moderate wheeling and know bigger than 33-35ish.

I used a photobucket link to put the picture on here thinking everyone would see it. Maybe I'm wrong:thinking: I'll try one through ck5.

do you have a close-up of where it meets the windshield.. how did they do that? i just put a full cage on my rig and custom making a top for it but i need ideas on how to waterproof the windshield

I'll see of I can get a close up. There is a aluminum rail with snaps on it that is attached to the windshield frame. I think there are some pretty good pictures on soft topper's website. You can add a piece of rubber door stripping behind the snaps to improve the seal.

A little update for spring. I'm working on putting different axles under the truck yet this spring. They will be a 44 up front 14ff in back with 4.10 gears and disc brake conversion. And here is some pictures from the weekend showing off the rihno lining I did on the bottom and around the wheel wells. What do you think.

I like it...looks good. I am curious how is will look over time. Considering doing something similar myself. Did you do it yourself or have a shop do it?

I had a shop do it. I'm not real worried about it looking to bad over time. It will probably show alittle white dust when dirty but it will clean up good enough for me. I just want the metal to stay strong and not have rock chips let moisture in. I did the rockers on my 02 yukon a year ago and it cleans up pretty black and know one even notices it was rihnoed. I pretty happy with how it turned out on my blazer and it makes it look a little tougher now I need new axles, wheels, and tires:woot:

Very cool looking truck Trea....beautiful color and I really like the softopper too.
Nice job man`

Looks Good! I like both the top and the rhino!

Skid dog. there are plenty of posts on here about the longevity of rhino and other spray on liners. Mine has been on for 5 years now and still looks great!

Thanks a lot for the comments. I was pretty nervous about the rihno and how it would turn out, but I'M really happy with how it looks. 70juimmy I did some searching and looked at thread started by you and couldn't find what you did for rinho. Do you have some closer pictures of yours. I love your rig and the scenic shots you have.

I'm going 8 lug in a couple of weeks does anyone have a suggestion about cool rims? I'D love to go with recentered 17" trailready w/similated rock ring but they cost $$. What would 2007 H2 hummer wheels look like and will they work? What will the issues be BS and what can I do to solve any issues. If you think it's a ad idea let me know.

Thanks

So the changes for 2011 and the budget is busted for a while. New wheels and tires Cooper s/t max 285 R70 17" They stand about 33" and I like them a lot better than the old tires, all on TR rims. I also put on the weld on and bolt on steering brace, and an xj steering shaft. 14ff rear with disc brakes and 44 up front with 4.10 gears. A quick question on that. With the gear ratio change My speedo is off between 10 to 15 mph's is that normal and is there an easy fix? And of course the rinho on the bottom. I'm liking my truck:D

is that for a cable operated speedo also? Isn't this an 88? I don't know, I was just going to recommend changing the gear inside the T-case:dunno:
