This God forsaken 4l60e has finally **** the bed. A month of driving it after the new pump it started acting up yesterday. It has lost its everloving mind. Under light throttle you can forget it holding 3rd or 4th consistently, its in and out of gear banging and slipping. The harder you drive it the better it shifts, shifts perfectly under hard throttle. It was absolutely perfect when I first got it back together, I reckon maybe a piece of trash got dislodged and found its was to somewhere it shouldn't be..... idk
I am so friggin done with 4l60e transmissions. The blazer is probably going to get a nv4500 if I can afford it or a newer nv3500. A rebuilt 4l80e plus controller is way out of my price range so thats out of the question.
The way I see it, a manual will be borderline indestructible (especially nv4500) and it will be more fun to drive. Plus better mpg. Granted I will miss quick shifts and thought-free driving, but hell I need a trans that I don't have to replace every 20k miles!
So as of now I'm on the hunt for a sub $1000 nv4500 or 99+ nv3500. As well as a hydraulic pedal assembly, that should be fun to locate....
