This build looks good. I'm debating about doing something similar but may do a k5 instead and still dovetail it front and rear. Just can't decide.

. It has a hydraulic pump/belt drive pump type of plow. So, I was comparing notes on the 1987 K5 and the 1991 K5 and realized the belt configurations were totally different. For some reason I thought all TBIs had the serpentine belt set up. All this to say that the brackets will not transfer to the 1987 K5. But they will transfer to the 1989 K5 Trazer. So, it looks like the Trazer will be getting a plow. That means lots of clean up and paint to get it ready for installation. Hope to finish the plow removal tomorrow. Then start cleaning up and painting of the plow frame and brackets. Maybe even powder coating them
.It is a Fisher and the plan is to keep it live hydro. Any comments on plowing with a lifted rig? It is funny that you responded because I was thinking of your old blue truck when I was trying to think of lifted plow rigs.take pics of the plow stuff.
I prob help out a lot .
its more than likely a fisher .
some guys are still selling n.o.s. engine install kits with the brackets and pulley if you wana keep it live hydro .
Thanks for the heads up Martin. Have you done that before? It sounds like a good idea. I will check it out to see how much of an issue rust is going to be.You can swap the entire serpentine setup over to the 1987.
Martin
The idea of putting the plow on the Trazer had grown on me since it would be a good way to keep it in use in the winter. But it's the same story for the 1987 K5. Looks like its decision time. Nice to know there is a choice there.Yeah, I have done a couple.
You have to swap the water pump, and the fan with it, as they both spin the opposite direction of a V-belt setup.
Martin
Where are these, "n.o.s. engine install kits" you speak of?take pics of the plow stuff.

And why did you let such an awesome truck sit that long?!
I want to see a lot more pics ASAP. Very nice build!
. Just glad to be back on it really. My carpet finally came in so, I will get back on it to do that and the plow. And more pics
.Looks a lot better than I was expecting for a plow rig. Looks cleaner than my Blazer, come to think of it.![]()

Life happened. Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months, then I hit 88 mph and saw some serious poo. Just glad to be back on it really. My carpet finally came in so, I will get back on it to do that and the plow. And more pics
