89 k5 Trazer build "The Dirty Girl" *Tubed front/taper, full hydro steer*

Definitly, for now I may just cut the rockers and weld some square tube like you did, but eventually I want to boatside it, ditch the interior rollcage and replace that with an exo-cage. But nothing till after the holidays. I'm out of money till next year and can't afford to wheel right now
sounds almost identical to mine :D..see good minds think alike :D

Also I think the power steering pump is shot. I can hear a howling sound and when im driving and hit the gas, the steering gets all weird. I was backing up and punched it, the steering suddenly went right and I almost ran into my friend's car :eek1:

Sorry for the late reply but . . .
You may still have air in system. You should check to make sure all the air is out before you replace any parts.

Yea I gotta double check that. I was driving the truck around in the driveway and I think I may have had it in front wheel drive last time. I was playing around with the shift positions and I got in 4wd and the steering didnt feel so bad. I'm still figureing out 205 shift rail positions. :o

The exhaust looks Great looks like mine down to the "t". lol looking good man like the flex pics are great. I wish mine was that far along. I'll be getting to that soon.

Thanks man, I'm gonna try and get some vid this weekend so you guys can hear the exhaust. I'm really happy with the sound! Also I was playing around with the shifter positions. I did have it in front wheel drive, that's why the steering felt weird. I got it in rear wheel drive and it drove so much better.

Did a little "wheeling"

looks good ryan, are you going to do the rest of the cab in olive drab and put mirrors on it?
Thanks, in the springtime I'm going to repaint the hood and fenders as well as the cab and doors in OD. If I end up driving it on the street I will throw on some temporary mirrors. The flatbed will be black i think

Well this thread is over two years old now and the truck is very close to hitting the trails. Im getting ready to order a triple stick cable shifter from NWF. I was thinking of making my own, but now that the truck is kicked out of the garage and the temp is in single digits, I don't think that will be happening anytime soon. PLus my buddy is planning a wheeling trip during his spring break so I have to have the truck ready by then. NO EXCUSES!!

I also found out that I need a rear traction bar after I had the bright idea to climb some snow that the city piled up at the end of my brother's driveway. I got stuck  and while trying to get out, I could feel some axle wrap in the rear.

Now I have the DIY backbone truss and wraptor traction bar. But the wraptor just isnt going to work in my application so I'm going to modify it. I found these pics on the net and I'm going to try and make something similar except I want to use Kerts spindle setup on the shackle end.

Whenever you need a trailer let me know. I'f I am not using it I am usually open to loan it out. My K5 Needs a Tie Rod , and The S10 aint done so yeah.. Where is the trip to? Cliffs is now going to be enforcing the 39.5 Tire rule. I guess stuff is getting to torn up so just an FYI. They will also be Sound Testing Noise.

That sucks about the rule enforcement. Originally we were going to badlands, but then I was asked if I would be willing to go to cliffs. I told my buddy about the tire rule and he didnt even know they had one. So it looks like it will Badlands unless someone out there wants to loan me some 39.5 TSLs or Boggers? ;)

I will definitly talk to you about the trailer when it gets closer to the trip, thanks.

Gimme a call , and we can chat about the rules. I don't want to elaborate to much on here....

Wasn't that the rules when they first opened the park? I know the first time we took the quads out there they where checking the ones that exhaust on them.

I believe so, but it just wasn't enforced as much. The tire rule is new, it replaces the wheelbase limit they had. I think a shortbed was just about the longest thing you could bring in there
