'89 R3500 Crew Cab 2wd to 4wd conversion & beyond

Started out with 2wd TBI350 with SM465 to current 4wd with 454, 700r4, NP241
I was also confused about the blade count. I'm assuming the new fan is the one with the much steeper blade pitch?
Correct. Blade pitch was the only gain.

I had it in my head the 350 fan was just 6 blades. :doah:

I didn't want to say anything when I saw the picture of both on top of each other.
I don't remember ever seeing a 6 blade regular rotation.
I had one in reverse rotation.
I know 7 blade and 4.
Not even sure there is 5 blades?
A and the noise is gone because no more turbulence and created the good suction.

I contemplated keeping quiet for a few moments, counted again and then decided to say something since @mrk5 likes to give me so much grief about being old and using A/C!!
:D

So glad that I kept my cool, and counted correctly, with my old eyes..

I do have photographic evidence of a 5 blade from a 6.2L. At least I hope I'm counting right.

Honestly it was starting to make my question my sanity.

I forgot to add I also verified the temperature reading from the CTS is pretty accurate. I keep forgetting I put this mechanical temp gauge in the upper radiator hose.

Given that it's analog and the CTS reading is digital, they were within 2 to 3 degrees of each other.

If you have just the pitman arm on the steering box, should there be any play in the shaft?

I had the draglink off and notice I could move the pitman arm back and forth a little bit.

If it's not good I only need to adjust the steering box. Different issue from the part you're getting for me.

I am getting scared of being around you two and @500$k5 . Steering box issues with ya'll seem to keep going!

I hope that you get it fixed without serious problems.

Well I stopped for parts. Is your math better than Scott’s?

I hate when you observe things for the first time and then don't know if it's normal.

It's not up and down play. It's rotation play going from to right or vice versa. I don't think it's more than 1/4". And this is with the draglink removed.
