'89 R3500 Crew Cab 2wd to 4wd conversion & beyond

Started out with 2wd TBI350 with SM465 to current 4wd with 454, 700r4, NP241
Anyone know if the flange for the sye NP241 will fit the NP205 rear output?

Did a Google search and Denny's seems to indicate they are the same.http://www.dennysdriveshaft.com/p15...1_1_transfer_case_yoke_1410_series_fits_.html

Trick is I would still need something in my NP241 so I can sell it. So I'm not sure if it really gains me anything.

Since I have a newer NP205 (1980) with the front output flange, that should be the same bolt pattern as my NP241, correct? I thought I remembered all the front output flanges are the same and that any front shaft from an 80's tcase with rear slip yoke uses the same driveshafts.

Yes, if you have the new NP205 with the front flange, it's the same bolt pattern and bore size as the NP241 front flange...your driveshaft will bolt up to it just fine. Obviously the length might be different since you are going from 700r4/241 to 4l80e/Magnum/205, but a simple lengthen job on the driveshaft would suffice

I sell t cases without flanges all the time

Yeah, I wouldn't think it would be a problem...depending on who buys it might need/want to swap out the flange anyways (they might need a yoke instead of a flange). So pulling the flange off to put on your 205 so the outputs are good to go I think wouldn't be a bad move.

Either way, ORD sells flanges for pretty cheap:

I bought two of their flanges for my Titan/205 combo cause I was kinda the same as you that I wanted to keep my SYE 241 completely intact...but not to sell...to put in something else down the road. I even kept the full cable shifter with the 241 so it's a full package and easy to swap into another square at some time (I'm sure I'll have another one some day that it will go into, haha)

What are you trying to get out of that 241?

($$$ wise)

Normally I would buy from them but I have a Tom Woods certificate. Although I may need to see what needs to happen with the front drive shaft before using it.

Oh nice.

It's a weird color. I think it's supposed to be a metallic gray but it picks up a hint of purple. Maybe there's purple flake in it.

Not the original color. Should be a burnt umber. Door jams, engine bay, and inside bed are still that color.

It looks 2wd
Yes. This will be for the boys to drive.
