'89 R3500 Crew Cab 2wd to 4wd conversion & beyond

Started out with 2wd TBI350 with SM465 to current 4wd with 454, 700r4, NP241
I just use atf when I need to top off a jack. Jack oil is pretty much just hyd oil which is pretty much just atf. All roughly 10 weight and they work the same. Power steering fluid too.

I would have bolted the speedo/bearing housing to the main case to hold it......

Just sayin'.....

:D

Do I get a sticker for my help??????
That would be boring. It's more fun to create a problem and then figure out how to solve it. No sticker for you.

While I was at ACE getting the proper barb fitting for the vent, I found a bottle of jack oil for $7+change.

So when I popped the plug out of the jack there was a good release of air. I ended up adding about 6oz of oil, way more than I thought would go in.

This is what I ended up with for the vent connection.

I had it down. The directions have you open the release valve in the first step.

Getting ready for paint since I know @Bent77 would be disappointed if I didn't.

The Magnum won't be painted. Although to be honest I'm kinda liking the unpainted look of the NP205.

I'm also finding further frustration with getting the 4l80e controller setup. Apparently Holley recommends against tapping into the TPS signal to run another controller like for the transmission. Done some searching and not having any luck finding if people have been trying it and if it's working. It's hard to believe there aren't a lot of Snipers running in vehicles with 4l60e. Maybe that means it's not an issue and Holley is just giving themselves an out, aka CYA.

So if I can't tap into the sensor wiring, I'll have to get a second add-on TPS. Ugh! :poop:

I did find a cool jumper harness so I wouldn't have to cut the Sniper TPS harness.

@mrk5 If you're on Facebook there's a guy in the Hardcore Chevy K-Trucks group that has Holley efi with a 4l80e. I can add you to the group if you want to talk to him.

Fwiw, if left unpainted it'll turn orange on it's own so @Bent77 would be happy. :thumb: Personally, I think it needs more billet bling. :pimp: :goldtooth:
