'89 R3500 Crew Cab 2wd to 4wd conversion & beyond

Started out with 2wd TBI350 with SM465 to current 4wd with 454, 700r4, NP241
I have the last gen VR on my truck and it has been going strong for six years. I did have to take it apart within the first year because it did have some water intrusion and the free spool would not work. I took it apart and greased everything and it has been good ever since.

That is the wrong sticker on that motor. Timestamp 2:03.

Where did you buy the winch from?
I know, that's why I pulled the motor off and checked the part number. Luckily it says 12K. The piece the sticker is applied to is a bolt on cover so they probably just put the wrong motor cover on the winch. At this point I think it's kinda funny.

It was an actual gift from someone else, not like my usual truck parts gifts to myself. I'm not certain where it came from.

It's finally on the truck. After all it took to get the winch bolted to the bumper, I was worried it wasn't going to clear the core support, but the height must be pretty much the same as the old winch.

The clutch lever is a perfect fit like I'd built it that way from the beginning.

If it was a 1/2 turn like the old winch, it might have been a problem.

Or just be like me and don't do anything stupid and get your truck into a situation where a winch or 3 are needed.

Oh, Wait. Never mind. Do not follow me for suggestions.
He's usually out with the Nitro Circus boys. I think the Warn is the minimum price of entry for what they do. Anything less would probably end up in a smoking heap of parts.

Is this a synthetic rope snatch block? Id be interested in seeing what the tethered orange rope is rated for. Id imagine this is secured to a tree via a strap, and a shackke?
Yes it’s for synthetic rope, the one I have is rated for WLL 22,000 lbs.

Ah cool! What size is the sheave like red thing, and the rope diameter? Picture makes it look small, but I wouldn't think it would be.

Depends on your rope size. This one works for 5/16 to 1/2 inch, which is stnadard winch stuff. I wouldn't run cable through it though.
