'90 K5 "Project Sanity" Sold 7/5/2018

Demon44 (Luke) showed up tonight. He delivered a Ford Hi-Pinion D60 I hornswoggled out of Russel recently. Up til now the cash outlay has been minimal with all the horse trading I've been doing with Russel...that's about to change as the 60 gets built.

For now I'll put it off to the side while I collect parts for it and stay focused on getting the 5.3 swap done.

That's my mid-week update. I don't get much done on 'school nights'...
Are you ready to change the name of this project yet? :haha: I believe blazinzuk had a comment about this particular vehicle in his signature.

Nice work on the crossmember as expected, Rene. :waytogo:

Way awesome to see ya back at it. :pimp:

The BMW updates were great and all, but this is just weee bit better. :haha:

Lots of spare 1/2 ton parts...Make the 6.2 a 4x4!

I'll donate a mid 80s 1/2 ton diesel 4x4 frame and keep the frame at the farm till your ready. :thumb::popcorn:

The name of my project refers to my sanity, rather than an overall opinion of the build by others...so I think it's still apt. As for things kinda snowballing, it's all Russel's fault. :haha:

and winter is coming too:whistle:

Reminds me I need to pick up a better garage heater. Wearing shorts the last week, but that'll change in a damn hurry here.

Sounds like a great idea, seriously. I never heard another thing from Paul about the pick-up so why not?

Cool!
I was wondering if Paul still wanted it? Guess not.
I'll start a pile of swap parts for it then! :thumb:

A CK5 project truck?
I like that ole truck Rene', was a good cruise around we took in that day at your place! I'll never forget it!

I like that cross member! What size tube did you use on that?

It's 1.75" x .120" HREW. When I had the engine in I saw immediately the cross bar between the shock hoops wasn't going to work with the 5.3. So, I re-purposed that piece of tube down to the last couple of inches. :waytogo:

It is a good old truck, with the only two downsides IMO are 2WD and the 6.2 hates this winter climate. I haven't thought too much on it...but maybe covert to 4WD using my half ton stuff with 3.42's maybe 32's and two inches of lift so I can leave the sheet metal alone. Maybe another 5.3? Don't know...trying to stay focused on the Blazer right now.

I figured as much. Pretty hard to turn down really good parts though.

Street friendly. The goal is BB 15 (have I just cursed myself?) and the plan is to drive down and wheel, then drive back...comfortably.

Same ideas I have for my build.

For sure! Blazer first obviously... just thought I would throw it out there before I scrap the frame and then find out you would have liked to of had it for the truck! :doah:
Just looking into the future for ya bud! Plus I got lots
of time to think about crap like that sitting in the feilds.

What are you doing sitting in the field? Shouldn't you be working? :D
