'90 K5 "Project Sanity" Sold 7/5/2018

Lucked out with the switches, found an 87 chevy van to get it from! It looks so much more ..........acceptable now haha:flipoff7:

This is now back inside the garage, a punch list has been begun and it's not as scary or as long as I thought it might be. No my list doesn't include "Finish Blazer" as one of the bullets. :flipoff7:

Gonna mess with it tomorrow, we'll see if we get to cross anything off the list.

* Fab fuse block mount for inner fender
* Install one front shock...done
* Fab a mount for the Hot underhood air intake system
* New front calipers and brake pads
* Bleed brakes
* drill holes and final bolt trans/T-case cross member
* Install front driveshaft
* Build exhaust (order hi flow cat and O2 sensors)
* Clean, paint and install fuel tank skid
* Weld in new driver's side rocker
* Decide on tires, buy and install
* Get this bitch inspected, legal, reg'd, insured etc.

Not horrible. I'm really considering 33's for the new tires. Oh sure 37's would be cool, but the reality is I have 3.42 geared 10's front and rear that I'm unwilling to spend another cent on. I have a hi pinion D60 front here, as well as a SF 14 I may or may not use. If I go with 33's now I can drive, wheel and enjoy the truck while I slowly build the tons. I'll look at 37-38" tires at that point.

Damn, looks like we are about to lose a valued member of the "Jackstand Wheeler's Club".... man there aren't going to be many of us left.

Don't worry, Bud. I won't leave a man behind. JWC till 2018 or bust. :D :haha:

Hmmmm, a consensus. "Drive it", who even does that anymore?

That is the goal actually, and other things later. If I could sell the 2015 GMC for enough to pay off the car loan I'd make the Blazer my DD...but I think it'll be another couple of years before that might happen.

Anyways, I'd have been out in the garage already, but I had to shovel snow instead. I love Edmonton, last week a few leaves were falling but it still felt like late summer. Friday and Saturday 90% of the leaves fell (raked Saturday for 9 yard bags full) this morning 3-4" of snow already. Fall almost lasted a whole weekend! :flipoff1:

That brake bleeder should be there somewhere still, screw gravity bleeding. So the blazer is back in the garage, where did the fab project get put?

P.s drive it! Because then you wont sell it, and we can wheel BB17

The mighty vac got nuked. Not sure if something fell on it or what. I bought another one though. Used it to bleed Durango brakes already and pretty impressed with it..

That little trailer I dis-assembled and leaned against the wall for now. I may re-visit that later, or re-purpose it. I might turn it into shelving. lol. The clown car is outside, and the Pontaliniac hasn't moved.

Ah thats too bad the one i left got nuked, Worked really well on the blazer. Im stoked to hear the blazers getting worked on! And it better not be so its sellable lol. A wise man once told me " youd be a fool to sell your blazer "..... *whistling dude <---emotifail
