91 K5 -Procrastination Build - bikini top!

That whole fuel injection thing was FUNNY! That's why I want to upload my daughters video because you can hear it. :haha:

Ok, so here's a little after the fact update...

First, I finally installed my Spicer locking hubs (broached to 35 spline).

There are 2 O-rings you can replace, on the knob and the bezel.

Info from Pirate4x4

* Small O-ring between dial and cover:

AS 568A No. 140
2 1/4" i.d.
2 7/16 o.d.
3/32" round cross-section diameter
Material- Buna-N 70

* Large O-ring between cover and wheel-hub:

AS 568A No. 043
3 1/2" i.d.
3 5/8" o.d.
1/16" round cross-section diameter
Material- Buna-N 70

I took these numbers to Motion Industries and bought enough for 2 pairs of hubs for less than $3. :pimp:

I installed my fender liners. I had to chop some off of the front and the rear since my wheel openings are cut out pretty big. I also had to cut a hole for my battery box to poke through (hindsight: I should have placed my battery box higher on the firewall).

Do those Spicers work?

I suppose in just installed condition they might.

Hard to turn (like usual) but they work great.

Shoot, looks good dude. Get that cage in there and start enjoying that sucker. You spent enought time building it, start enjoying it! :waytogo:

I'm not a hill climber at all so I thought it looked a little tough but I guess not. Next time I'm thinking about trying a different line that looks nasty. We'll see...

Big step today, I chopped the top! It's not welded together yet, I'm going to have the "new" frame media blasted and then re-do so seam sealer first. I'm also going to work on the cage before finish the windshield frame.

The old glass was all cracked up before I took it out so I haven't messed with it but my top to bottom measurement at the center of the hole looks really close (maybe 1/8" big). I still need to take a grinder and trim each post a hair so they fit squarely together, I think that'll make it just just right. Whew! :D
