Awesome!!!

Maybe get the new glass and set it in just to be sure before welding?

Looks like you did a good job, this is something that would scare the crap out of me for some odd reason lol.

Good idea!

I've been stressing over this for a looong time. I stared at it Friday and Saturday, even pulled the windshield, but didn't have the balls to do it. I stared at it some more this morning and said screw it and made the first cut. If I didn't do it I'd always regret it.

I'm too lazy to go back through the thread and look, so I will just ask.

I know you are running flipped 56's and a zero rate. Did you stretch more with the zero rate? Or just the 3" difference from flipping the 56's?

Ultimately I'm 3" back. Flipping the 56's sets the axle 4" back. I then used the Zero Rate to move forward 1".

There's a pic early in this thread showing 5" back, I didn't like it because I thought it made the rear of the truck look odd. The tire was almost half way out of the wheel opening.

5" back -

After that I put the 56's back stock and set the Zero Rate 1.5" back but I felt that offset was hardly noticeable.

I saw a side shot of ChrisPerry's truck with his rear axle back 3" and, to me, it just looked right - a noticeable stretch but not awkward looking.

3" back -

Also, even though it's not a ton of offset it made a tangible difference in the departure angle.

Getting ready to do some springs swaps, and this helped a lot.
I really want to go as far back as possible, which may result in a comp cut. We will see. Thanks for the info.

You can actually go 6"+ back with 56s if you really want to and have some Ruffstuff or similar spring perches and an EZ inch (zero rate). 56 run backwards is good for 4", front-most hole on 3 position Ruffstuff perch is good for 1", and EZ inch is good for 1-1.5".

I personally have my build at 3" rear stretch using the backwards 56s and using the rear-most hole on my 3 position Ruffstuff perches which pushes the axle forward 1". Currently no EZ inch in the rear of my truck but that may change if I pull some leafs from my rear pack for softer springs and need to keep the current height. Front axle is ~2" forward just like nverenuf's.

I know it is hard to tell where the tires are at without the fenders on that side but there is a shot from the other side below

I've already cut the fang off of the rear fender in this pic. Obviously I have more trimming to do at a later date.

Too funny, I was just (re)watching your episode of Xtreme 4x4 last night, good stuff. Small world. :thumb:

Looks like it's gonna be tight getting that out of your garage. LOL

These suck down winches I am putting on might come in handy for that :D

I am actually going to be running a backwards Ferd 58" spring, which is split 32x26.5 so I will be pushing it back 6". If I got real crazy I could do the Ruffstuff perches and the zero rate, but I think that may be overkill.

Updates?
Did you get the window frame finished up, or the new cage installed?

I've been wondering myself. I was looking for a rear factory roll bar and came across this again.

Ford 58's? Or do you mean 57's?
