I wish some one would make something simple like the one in the pics below. A top only cover could probably be reasonably price and not require the complete removal of the factory structure.

Honestly, I don't see anything like that happening. A more racy dash would be cool but I like the factory one enough to live with it. I don't really like the diy4x dash enough to spend $750+ on one and I haven't seen anyone else building anything (especially not a top only sheet metal cover to replace the dash pad). My real conundrum is my dash pad is SHOT(!) so I'm not sure I have enough decent material to glue a dash cover to which means I'd have to buy a decent pad ($100? w/o shipping) plus the $160 for the dash cover itself.
I think the dash looks deadly so not changing and not spending 750 is a win win!
Damn.. could you use some sort of filler on the vacant spots, backing just for the pad?
Yeah, just a general example there. It would need to be tall on the driver side too. Something like that wouldn't be hard to make, I think a 6"-7" vertical face would clear the structure, add a 1" 45 degree bend at the bottom to screw to the metal structure and then bend the flat top. To me, the real speed bump is the area designed for the cluster. There's a bowl like shape behind where the bezel goes, this sunk in area at the bottom prevents you from easily putting a flat panel across it because you'd have to do some cosmetic metal work to close that out. This is the part that keeps it from being as easy as buying a cheap brake and folding metal.

There's lots of videos using spray foam, fiberglass, etc to rebuild the pad before covering it but mine is literally crumbling. With the plastic breaking so easy and the factory foam underneath turning to dust I don't think it would hold anything glued to it. I think you'd have to take mine down to the metal and start over and I'm no sculptor lol.

I’ve been searching for some recentered H1’s for a few months without much luck. Last weekend I finally found a set about 4 hrs away and the price was right. The wife and I decided to make a road trip out of it, we drove 2-1/2 hours last night and got a room and a nice dinner. Right after dinner I got a text saying “sorry the wheels are super duty pattern “, ugh!
I asked the guy twice during the week if they were 8x6.5, 
Oh well. We’ve had a nice ride/time, time to go back home. The search continues....

I’m struggling here. I’m going to make a tire change because I’m making a wheel change. I figured when I buy tires I might go down to a 40-ish because, while I LOVE the big tires, I just don’t need a tire that big.
I borrowed some 39.5 TSL’s from a friend to test fit, my first impression 2 weeks ago was that they looked awkward. They seem a tad small and they make the cut wheel openings look over the top.
All that said, I pulled it out again today and it’s growing on me. What say CK5? Would it look goofy? (strictly looking at it as is, I have no interest in changing or fixing the wheel openings)
I have the front fender liner out for work which I think is exaggerating the look.

Looks good!! Maybe you could dial in some more uptravel. Some 40inch radials will be a night and day difference to bias swampers.
I really want to but I can’t, no rear driveshaft at the moment. I’m 6 weeks in on a 2-3 week quote for parts from HAD.
He’s blaming supply shortage junk so I’m stuck here with a lot of money hanging out there and a cut up driveshaft.@Cheavyk10 I’ve thought about getting a “modern” radial but I’m worried about them looking a little narrow as I think most are slimmer than the TSL’s I’m test fitting.
Also, I’m getting some beadlocks from @fourwheelerjeff that are 15” and I don’t think Nitto, Toyo, etc offer anything for those anymore. The rims are Trailready’s, I’ve wanted some forever but never willing to buy new. I’m willing to work with the size to get what I want.
I’m really interested to see how the gears feel with a smaller tire.
Yeah, 15's are tough anymore. I thought I was quite lucky to find Toyo MT's in a 37x14.50x15.
What gears 5.38? 42" down to 40" will only be 200-250 rpm higher in the whole range for same speeds
