96 s10 blazer, getting a 5.3L

I've been plugging along pretty well. I had to buy some camaro exhaust manifolds off of eBay because the truck ones are to big with the egr port on the pass side. Got the upper and lower radiator hoses on along with the fitting for the steam port in the upper, made a new mount for overflow tank and mounted it. Also drilled and tapped the oil cooler bypass fitting on the side of the pan for 1/8 npt. Then put together the stainless line going to a t so I can run a gauge and dummy light. Harness supposedly shipped out Wednesday sometime, so just waiting on it, a throttle cable, exhaust manifolds and some 90* intake boots. uploadfromtaptalk1396068806303.jpguploadfromtaptalk1396068824546.jpg

Got my harness and comp back yesterday, they look great. I don't have much to compare them too other than my old hacked up one and the factory one. Everything marked. Nice long fuel pump lead(green) and pwr lead(white.) I have to hook battery pwr to fuse block fuel pump, ignition pwr, low fan and high fan(ground triggers), check engine, high idle and tach. He changed the comp so a regular tach on 8cy should work, if not I hook the gray wire (12v) into the tach also using the supplied resistor and then it will read. I can copy the message in if someone needs more info on the tach deal. Now to get it in!

Be sure to hook the battery + to the battery and not the back side of your battery switch like I did and need to re-do. When you shut the battery off it looses its idle and fuel trim data and has to re-learn it again each time you switch the battery.

Intake done. All 4" except or the reducer on the back of the maf. Running a 6637 filter, 8" diameter, 12" long with a filterwears.

Looking good! Just ordered $500 worth of harness making material with those same exact fuse boxes!! Can't wait to see it running!

That's awesome! Let me know if you would like a pic of anything on the harness. Hopefully be running by the end of next week.

Got some more done today. Got a new mount made for my orbital, that's removable. Then a gusset connecting the two tubes since they aren't anymore. I had to move the orbital out just a little with the coil packs so the new mount is in the middle of the upright tube. Then I had to cut the same tube on the other side for exhaust clearance. Had to come up with a red neck paint both since the shop isn't heated. Then I cut the flanges off the manifolds and welded on the v band clamp mount. Tomorrow I should get my old exhaust connected to the new manifolds and a computer mount made. Then just wiring left. Have to get this knocked out because on Wednesday I volunteer at the kids school all day. Then Thursday and Friday I'm on a field trip with each kid all day.

Got it fired up today! Let the fuel pump run twice and she fired right up. Ran good, 20lb of oil at idle, no engine codes, no weird noises! The weep hole on the water pump has a fast constant drip so looks like I'm doing a water pump tomorrow. Here are some pics of it all tidied up, my computer /fuse box mount and how much more room there is between the pulleys and fans. Before I couldn't even get my hand down there. Now there is 3-4 inches. Hopefully tomorrow I can take her for a drive.

Talk about a tight fit, total shoe horn you got going on. Bet you will like the new performance gain.

Just in time....you are about to head to EJS in a day or two right?

Have you done your shakedown drive down the dirt road yet? :D
