96 s10 blazer, getting a 5.3L

SMORR is well worth the visit. If you wheel with wife and kids like me it is a great place to take them too. Small playground, clean shower house that never ran out of hot water with they said over 500 people there through out the weekend. Owners are super nice. Here is a link to the pirate thread i just posted the other pics i had up on. Page 5 bottom

Question for you. I've read that the plate that comes with DD Machines kit will only work with drivers drop 241s. Would it have been possible to just reverse the plate (or use it the opposite way it was designed) and use a passenger drop 241 with the drivers drop 205? I know some of the holes in the plate are threaded but maybe they could be drilled out and re-threaded.

I really like the spacer you had made but I was just thinking it might be a little easier to flip the plate instead having a spacer made. I'm sure you would still have to notch the 241 case half for the shift rail. What are your thoughts? Thought I'd ask you since you've worked with the plate.

I really think you could flip the plate and go with the pass drop. Here is a good pic of mine. It is flat on both sides too. Don't know about clearance with the shift rail though. Never thought about trying that, already owned the driver drop.

Works great. no problems at all. @ good trips and a handful of single days on it. Moab coming next week. I do use the double low, more because I can than anything else. Been a few crawling spots where traction is good and I can just let it creep along. I like it. Are you going to BB?

I wish I was. Don't have the funds or the time-off. Hopefully one day though...

Been to Moab once and it is awesome, definitely looking forward to this trip next week with the ck5 guys. :woot: Add it to your bucket list thats for sure!

Seen pics. Looks like it went well. Do you still have whats left of the Chevy 205 you robbed parts from, specifically the rear output shaft?

It worked great. Once I was even accused of my auto tranny working well! It's an NV4500. The only chevy part i had was the long input, never had a whole case sorry.

I seen some progress on your rig in another thread. Looked like the front end was missing... Share please. :D

Something to do with the rhyme, "Yorky had a Loki and its head popped off"... :D

^^^ thats funny. Anyways that front end was about to make my head pop off every time it slammed into something.:doah:The springs i was running rode great because of little lift, but in return the mounting bolt was low. So they banged into a lot, pretty obvious if you look at any pics of my truck. I plated over the sky SAS kit with 3/16" and it is still smashed in. So I cut the front of the frame off at the firewall and am redoing it with 2"x3". My little 36"s where already hitting the frame at full lock so figured it was time to change that too so in case my tires ever grow up i will be ready. The build will be a 4 link, ORI struts, full hydro steering. Plan is to have her out the first weekend in April. I have most of the parts, except the ORI's. Been buying since sept when sales come up. I started a thread on pirate, hadn't on here yet, I can add it onto here if anybody's interested. Here are a few pics though. The brown truck was when it was a DD. First run after SAS. Day before body came off. South Dakota this last summer. First run with s10 body

I will keep the post going on here too. Didn't really think about a handful of guys on here but not on pirate. I do enjoy ck5 more too. Little more laid back...:waytogo:

Oh and I seen earlier in your thread that you use a york compressor to fill your rock sliders as air tanks. I don't remember if you said what size your sliders were, but do you know how many gallons they will hold?

sliders are 2x6" and around 5' long. I dont remember the exact capacity, Norby figured it out one time. If memory serves the pair of them are 4-5 gallon.

I show about ~2.37 gal each or ~4.75 gal with the two combined. Sliders are .1875" wall right?
