97 sas'sy Sierra/ 80 Cheep 10: tales of a phat block

I love it. My wife always complains about those stickers every time she sees them. I'll have to get her a sticker like yours.

The ones that have become cliche to me are the plaques in everyone's houses that say "LIVE LOVE LAUGH". I wanted to put one in our living room that said "DIE HATE CRY". That would have been classic.

Yeah them stickers is dumb, I totally agree!!

Did a lil wheeling after working on the beaumont tonight, and of course a poser pic is needed!

Yeah it usually sits most of the time at my parents place, but I'm there once or twice a month, so I try n take advantage of it :waytogo:

That's why I get on this site - so I can see pics and vids of guys doing the fun stuff that I used to do and would like to do again someday. In the meantime, I'll just live vicariously through the guys on this site.

Figured it was a fitting song, looks like Im in the hundredth meridian :haha:

Nothing but sky for a second there. :eek1:

I still can't believe how good that exhaust sounds. I could listen to it all day. :thumb:

I wish I knew why a truck with an SM465 sounds so much better than one that has an automatic, even if they both have the same exact engine. Does anyone know the answer? If so please tell me. :dunno:

I 100% agree! With an auto, the torque converter will hold the engine to a steady rpm at its stall speed until the output rpm matches the engine rpm. It just sits and drones away at a steady rpm which is not fun and is not in the engine's power band. The 465 or any manual for that matter directly drives the wheels so you get to varry the rpms and use the engine's power band where it sounds the best.

Yeah I don't really care for automatics. The '85 I have now is the first vehicle I've ever had with an auto and I've had nothing but trouble. I even swapped in a TH400 because it's the best auto, and I still like it less than the NP435 manual that was in my old Dodge 4x4 pickup. That thing ruled!

Yup my names Jesse, I have 2 feet and they work 3 pedals :haha:

Next time I'm home might tweak the timing a bit, think it could use a couple degrees more. Still getting a carb backfire time to time.

The beaumont should be painted by than too, so it may get priority over the K20

Put some miles on er on the weekend. None of my wheelin buddies were up for a run. So we went for a nice lil trail ride Sunday to an old abandoned damn. Picked 2 garbage bags of cans at a local fishing spot near by, thanks to idiots who just like to make a mess

Went to bump the timing up, timing tape came off of course
So maybe this weekend I'll get er done.
