98 k2500. SAS'd and bobbed.

Transfer case installed for good. Shifter linkage is done. All of the plumbing is done. I noticed that gmt800 trucks have 34” radiators as well so I picked up a set of their radiator hoses. They fit damn near perfect. I just need to make a perch to hold the upper hose. Things are getting closer. I think I’ll spend the rest of the day bobbing 6” off the back of the bed and figuring out the fuel filler. I want to make a fuel pump access door in the bed as well.

Seriously. everything but the motor mounts were a breeze. I don't know if its the LS or a mix of that and the competition motor mounts but that damn bottom bolt is tight. oh and the header collector bolts are no fun, but thats just my exhaust routing. I just love that I can fit a whole fist behind the intake to get to the bell housing bolts. on the square the heads were touching the firewall.

The 205 eats up some serious room. Its about 1/2" from the floor and less than that from the cross member. You have to play with it a bit to get it to spline on the trans while being stuffed into the floor.

The bed is done. Filled the goose neck hole. Added a panel to get to the fuel pump. Cut another 7” out of the rear of it. I think that’s the last of my fab work other than the rear bumper. Tomorrow I’ll paint the bed and then toss it on for good hopefully.

I’m starting to think I may not have enough paint. Only 5 cans left and I still have the roof, doors, fenders, hood, and tailgate. Hood and tailgate will be my last things. I can’t put the front end together without painting the fenders.

I was digging the red but the brown will be a lot easier to keep clean looking. Love the build!
I was sad to hear he was covering the red at first but It was a great decision, the truck looks great!

Red is just too flashy for me and I’ve always wanted a FDE truck. Plus, the bed would have needed a respray anyway. The front fenders too when i get around to replacing them.
