A newbs POV in Moab

Time to start getting ready for Blazer Bash 2011. :deal: :D

I've started my list, so the plan is on to make it happen...:waytogo:

ERIC, I had a blast too, and next year will be one for the bucket list!:pimp:

With cutting it will.

well i have a 35 inch spare i can let you borrow, that should get you around just fine right? haha.

The goals for my k5 arent a full out crawler, rather just 4" of lift and 35s (for now, isnt that how they all start?). If we both go, we can be the riders and watchers club haha.

Let's set up the midwest convoy.

sounds great Kert, I'll be looking into the I80 route, that would work sweet for me, straight shot across the USofA....

I-80 maximum elevation is 8640 in Wyoming between Cheyenne and Laramie, Wyoming.

I-70, Eisenhower Tunnel West Portal - 11,158 ft in Colorado.

I hope i get my motor dropped in, i dont have much longer :D

If i get the chance to go, im in :waytogo: You think my stock k5 will clear 38's?

(joking, of course)

I wish that was all that was on my list....are you seriously thinking about going next year?

And we all have to seriously work on Rene', I know he missed coming this year, and I was really looking forward to meeting up with him, so next year come hell or highwater we gotta get him to come.:waytogo:

I am really going to try to play my cards right and be able to go. The only downfall for me is i have school, and ill be starting Ku's business school next year (well, ideally) but i try to get all of my classes on tuesday and thursday. If i plan to just go, take pictures, maybe right with some guys, and just take the easy trails i think my k5 would be good enough. I wanna drag along a trailer with camping provisions if i would go out that far (plus spare parts out the ying yang haha). IIm starting to get alot of money saved up and this would be a worthwhile investment (plus my buddy will be home from Africa and i think he'd like it as well so id have a shotgun buddy).

Granted, i dont know where ill be working or what ill be doing for sure a year from now, but if i can, i want to. Looking at those pics i just wanna go so bad. (especially the old abandoned vehicle and building pictures, i like seeing the forgotten)

OK, I'll meet you at Zaks, thursday night 9pm

In that case, you're gonna need to learn the 'sidecar' rules - I failed rather miserably this year, actually twice...:doah:

That sounds interesting, I have a lot to learn evidently....what a newb:rolleyes:

Yes, but it was funny :D. The rules always change in Utah but I think you
did pretty good. Zak's it is Zimm / Dave.
Michael, you got to admit, the waiter almost busted a gut when I ordered a whishkey w/ a sidecar of rum, Eric ordered a Rum w/ a side car of whiskey :haha: Doah!! Sorry I had to make you think about a sidecar when I ordered the next one :thumb:. Glad you caught the wink or whatever it was

The look on the poor guy's face was priceless...:D

Guys coming from the east that can practically run I-80 should consider dropping down through Craig and Rifle then hit I-70 to Grand Junction. There's some hills between rifle and craig but nothing like soldier's summit and you don't have to drive through salt lake city. I-70 is relatively flat from crescent junction to Rifle too. It also keeps you from going backward so far.

where is crescent junction? Or is that Grand Junction?
I guess coming down to I-70 would mean coming down on 13 from Wyo. into CO. right?
