a couple pics of Schroeders 872… those pushrods looked to be 3/4” diameter!
smaller pushrods are street w 1.5 rockers, big ones are race w 1.9 rockers.

It was on the left side fence facing the track, so it wasn't in view of the cameras.

Pushrods are one of those things they say you can't have too big, as long as it fits. It's on the lifter side of the rocker so weight is not as big of an issue as valve and retainer weight, etc. Stiffness is more important than weight since there is so much leverage on it from the rocker ratio multiplying the valve spring force. Most engines can't fit a pushrod that big, but you also don't need a 3/4" pushrod for a hydraulic roller at 6K either. Shaft rockers open up the doors though since they eliminate a guideplate, so you can run tapered pushrods or whatever you want.

Although condition were the best this week, few could master getting down the track. Except that little black S10 from Sweden! Cordova is a pretty decent track with a lot of room including camping. Nice facilities and well-kept. Jason Tabscott had the quickest N/A car so far including big blocks! His pass at Indy was 8.64. Pretty amazing for a full oem body and 427.
This video he got some real good bite and pedaled and short shifted to bring it down softly. Ran an 8.80

Wish I'd have been able to make it. Spent most of last night and this morning with a headache. Didn't figure the drags were the best place for it.

Oh well. Hope it was a decent day at least.

Saw Tabscott went a 59 on day five before it got rained out.

he broke 5 valve springs 30 miles into the drive to Madison, changed them, then ran his best et of the week!
still amazes me that-car is n/a and outrunning aLOT of power adder cars!

What all do these guys change on the car for driving down the road beside tires? Ignition Timing? Fuel? Cam timing? Rocker arm ratio to lessen lift?

not sure about Tom Bailey, but Dave Schroder in the blue unlimited Vette changes rocker arms from 1.9 race to 1.5 street, and has an oil line specifically hooked up to oil the valve Springs, and changes pushrods as well.

he also has a quick setup to put an alternator on the car, and takes off the wheelie bars and puts a street compatible (large capacity) fuel tank in there.

A lot of them run 2 fuel systems and 2 different tunes. Race mode and highway mode.

Alex has had a few mentions...probably the biggest claim for her this time is becoming a member of the 200 mph club. First you gotta make a 200+ mph pass, then you have to complete Drag Week for that to count. She did both. I've come to really admire both her and her Dad. I originally thought her Dad was a bit of a prick, but more recent stuff tells me he was probably very stressed and tired when I saw him before. Saw some video of him thanking Steve Morris for his advice, and he seemed very genuine and humble. Also, don't know if you saw the Taylor's Drag Week trailer...but holy crap is it organized and efficient looking!!

Have you seen Emily Ballard…I mean Alex is hot, and equally so is Emily! Car has run 8.40’s bit they can’t go quicker than 8.500 in her class.
Averaged 8.57 in a PA small block Camaro. I was drawn to the car because it looks and performs phenominally, but then I noticed her!
